Wilbur was a man with his needs too.
It was just that he had a working relationship with Faye, and whatever happened with Yvonne had made him rethink his relationships as well.
He had gotten together with Yvonne because he was sick of the fighting and killing any! wanted a normal life.
Yet after divorcing Yvonne and moving here, he had almost fallen for Faye’s temptations several times.
After thinking it through, he finally understood several things.
His lifespan was far longer than that of a regular human being. If he got together with Faye, she would eventually grow old and die.
Wilbur felt like watching someone he loved die in his arms was something he could not really handle.
The thought was enough for him to firmly bury his feelings for Faye, resorting to playing dumb all the time.
Wilbur shook his head. It was better to play dumb until he figured out a way around that.

He got up and carried Faye to her bed.
Faye was really drunk this time.
However, she had a blissful simile on her face this time as she slept.
Wilbur smiled at the sight and went downstairs to clean the table up
After he was done, he returned to his room and began to meditate.
The next afternoon, Wilbur was in the living room. He flicked around Kenji’s name card with his fingers, deep in thought.
Finally, he took out his phone and called the number on the card.
The call was short and simple.
Kenji was overjoyed to hear from Wilbur and invited him to a bar that very night.
Wilbur knew that Kenji was not asking him out for drinks.
He hung up the call with a faint smile before calling Elsa’s number.
“Chief Janae?”
“Who are you?”
“You must know a lot of people, Chief Janae. We just met yesterday. It’s me, Wilbur Penn.”
“Oh, you. What’s the matter?”
“Could I know how things are going with Lenny Detroit’s case?”
