A movie theatre, he had his own movie theatre. It was a fair-sized room, and against the feature wall, was a screen that went floor to ceiling wall to wall. Set back against the opposite wall was a projector mounted to the ceiling and a row of a plush luxury reclining chairs with drink holders in the arms and small tables between the chairs to place snacks on.

Kinsley could not stop smiling. “This room is amazing,” she said as Nicholas took a seat in one of the chairs. The maid brought in a large bowl of popcorn and drinks for their snacking needs. Nicholas picked up the remote and offered it to Kinsley, who took the seat next to his. “What should we watch?”

“Whatever you like. We have full cable as well as video-on-demand rentals,” he said as she pressed the buttons and explored his setup. She checked the rentals, and her eyes widened. “Oh, wow, some of these movies are still in theatres,” then she frowned when she saw the rental price. “Oh, but they cost twenty-five dollars to rent.”

She heard him chuckle. “It is fine, I assure you. Rent whatever you want.”

She shifted in her seat, tucking her feet up on the chair and under her bottom as she leaned on the padded arm and flipped through the movies. “Ok, what type of movies do you like?”

“Whatever you like will be fine.”

Kinsley turned her face to Nicholas. “I cannot ever get an answer out of you.”

He snickered. “My apologies. I like scary movies.”

“Ok, then let’s find a good horror flick,” she flipped through the horror rentals. “Supernatural or slasher?”

“I like them both.”

She selected the newest sequel to a popular supernatural franchise. “How about this one?”

“Perfect.”

Kinsley turned it on and put the remote down. She kicked off her heels, making herself comfortable. She reached for the popcorn. Nicholas clapped his hands, and the lights went out, giving the room that movie theatre feel. The movie turned out to be the best one of the series, and Kinsley was engrossed. She glanced over at Nicholas a few times to see how he was enjoying the show. Each time he would smile at her and drink his drink, which she was pretty sure was straight-up liquor from the smell of it. He never once reached for the snacks.
