Melanie realized that Hanson was helping Vania to get even. He only cared about Vania, and he had no concern for her at all.

How can you separate us? I was just too jealous of Vania. She doesn’t need to do anything for you to pay all your attention to her, whereas I’m the one who’s been by your side this whole time without even so much of a glance from you.
