Vicky looked at Tyler in surprise. “Are you coming along?’ “I don’t have anything to do today, so I can keep you company,” Tyler replied calmly.
Vicky instinctively tried to refuse. “You don’t have to.”
Tyler frowned. “Why not?”
“I accepted having Jade around to protect me when I go out; I never agreed to let you follow me around,” Vicky stated firmly.
Tyler was unhappy with her explanation, but he managed to control his temper. “I’m not just following you around. I’m here to protect you.”
Vicky did not believe him.
“As the child’s father, I can better ensure your safety,” he added.
It seemed Tyler had made up his mind and would not change his decision regardless of how Vicky protested. He even added, “You can think of me as any regular bodyguard.”
