Sonny looked like Liberty while Liberty inherited her mother’s looks. Whenever Mrs. Stone saw her elder niece and Sonny, she would feel as if she were looking at her younger sister.

“Sonny didn’t cry. He was so excited that he got up early and changed into his uniform. He carried his little bag and went to preschool happily. It was my sister and I who weren’t used to it.”

Children had always adapted quickly on their first day of school. On the other hand, parents were not used to it and would worry about their children who were in preschool. They would also eagerly hope for the time for school to be over soon.

Mrs. Stone laughed and said, “It’s his first day of preschool. He must’ve thought it was fun and didn’t know he had to stay in school all day. Most kids start making a fuss about not wanting to go to school a few days later.”

She looked toward her daughter and talked about Elisa’s embarrassing stories from when she was young. “Elisa acted the same way when she went to preschool. She was elated for the first two days but refused to wake up the third day onward. When I woke her up, she would say she wanted to sleep and didn’t want to go to school.

“A week later, I had to carry her into the car while she was crying and drive her to preschool. Then, I had to carry her out of the car and hand her to the teachers. It took a few teachers to hold her and bring her into the classroom as she was crying.”

Elisa’s face turned red. “Mom, is that really me? You must’ve remembered wrongly. I have no impression of it at all. I’ve always been a cute, obedient child in my memories.”
