Chapter 413 Set Oneself up
“It sounds like Dana.”
“Go and check.”
“Yes.”
In the Songo family’s garden, Cecelia walked in, only to be blocked by Dana on her way.
Dana, like a mad dog, attacked Cecelia as soon as she saw Cecelia. “Cecelia! I know everything now! You conspired with them to frame Chris and had him arrested by the police! You’re so ruthless! What exactly do you want?”
“Dana, the fact that your husband is facing a murder charge is due to the evidence found by the police. It’s entirely legitimate. What does that have to do with me?”
Cecelia had expected that Dana and others wouldn’t just let it go, but she was not afraid.
“It’s clear that you and Fiona conspired together! Cecelia, have you ever looked back and seen what our family has become since you arrived at the Songo family? One disaster after another has befallen our family! People have died, and many have been harmed. Are you satisfied now? Have you achieved your goals?”
Dana thought of her husband, son, and daughter being arrested, all because of Cecelia, and she couldn’t swallow her anger.
Cecelia snorted, “The Songo family has ended up in this situation because of your own actions. If someone commits evil deeds, even the heavens won’t allow it. Your husband was so ruthless, and he even harmed his own half-sister. His actions have truly astounded me. Now that the truth has come to light, he should face the consequences. And you, as his wife, have likely encouraged and supported some of the things he did. You should also face the consequences!”
After saying these words, Cecelia didn’t want to engage with Dana any further and walked past her.
But Dana’s lingering resentment wouldn’t dissipate. She watched Cecelia walk away and then saw a nearby flowerpot on the ground.
A surge of anger consumed her, driving her to act irrationally. She lifted the flowerpot and hurled it at Cecelia’s back.
Johnson rushed out of the living room at that moment and witnessed the scene. He exclaimed, “Oh my!”
Cecelia heard Johnson’s exclamation and sensed the danger behind her. She quickly turned around and saw the flowerpot hurtling towards her.
However, she didn’t dodge or evade because a figure had rushed over from the side to intercept the danger.
Adam, who had come up behind, saw someone attacking his sister. He rushed forward at lightning speed and kicked the flowerpot away.
Dana probably never dreamed that the flowerpot she had thrown would return on its original path and strike her in the face.
With a loud “bang,” the flowerpot hit her face, and it fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.
Dana collapsed to the ground, her face covered in blood.
Mariah came running from a distance and, seeing her mother lying on the ground with a bloody face, she screamed in shock, “Ah, Mom!”
She looked up at Cecelia and the others, accusing them angrily, “It’s you! You killed my mother! Cecelia! It was you!”
“I didn’t kill her,” Cecelia explained calmly, without a trace of emotion.
“It’s either you or him! It’s you! I saw it! He used the flower vase to kill my mother!”
Mariah was both terrified and horrified, screaming, “Help! Someone, help! There’s been a murder! Murder!”
Her cries attracted many servants, who came running from all directions. They all saw Dana lying on the ground, covered in blood, and didn’t know if she was alive or dead.
Some people tried to check Dana’s pulse and shouted, “She still has a heartbeat!”
“Call an ambulance quickly!”
“Call the police too!”
The servants were all in a frenzy, and some had already dialed the phone.
Soon, Johnson helped Alfred arrive at the scene. When Mariah saw her grandfather, she cried out, “Grandpa! You’ve come at the right time! Cecelia… Cecelia killed my mother! Look, my mother is dying!”
“That’s enough! Stop shouting! Do you think there isn’t enough trouble in the family already?”
Alfred’s stern expression and a tap of his cane on the ground silenced Mariah. She didn’t dare to continue shouting, but she couldn’t understand why her grandfather was so indifferent to seeing their family members hurt.
“I already know what just happened. Johnson saw the whole incident.”
Alfred instructed the butler to explain what had transpired.
Johnson said, “Dana, it was Dana who first confronted Miss Linsey, then lifted a flowerpot to hit her from behind. Miss Linsey’s people arrived in time and kicked the flowerpot, causing it to hit Dana instead.”
From Johnson’s description, it was clear that Dana was the one who initiated the confrontation. If she hadn’t resorted to a sneak attack from behind, it wouldn’t have led to her being hit.
What was this?
This was like lifting a stone to smash one’s own foot!
With Johnson’s testimony, Mariah couldn’t continue making a scene. She could only cry silently. What had happened made her desperate. Her husband was in jail, her sister-in-law was sentenced to death, her father-in-law was arrested, waiting to be prisoned, her great-aunt passed away, and even her mother-in-law was seriously injured. What in front of the first branch family was a dead end!
But she quickly straightened out her mind. She was still young, so there was no need to waste her prime time here. After it was over, she would divorce Warda and left the Songo family. Not before long, the ambulance arrived at the Songo’s residence and carried the seriously injured Dana away, with Mariah following behind.Seeing that the crowd had dispersed, Alfred turned to Cecelia. “Cecelia, come here.”
Cecelia exchanged a glance with Adam and followed Alfred into the study.
Once in the study, Cecelia saw Alfred sitting in his high-backed chair, his face dark with suppressed anger. Without saying a word, he tapped his cane on the ground with a “snap.”
“Cecelia, can’t you stop now? Can you give the Songo family a way out?”
Alfred had understood by now that Cecelia was seeking revenge on the Songo family, and all the trouble had started because of her. He didn’t want to see more family members facing difficulties. He didn’t want the family legacy he had preserved to be ruined.
“Alfred, do you really think that I’ve done all of this?”
“Isn’t it?”
Alfred raised his chin slightly, his gaze cold and narrowed. “I know you came here for the sake of your grandmother. I don’t know what your grandmother told you, but the past is already in the past. Don’t keep harming the innocent. Do you need the Songo family to be ruined, and people to die, before you’re satisfied?”
“Alfred, do you really think that everything from the past can be left behind? Do you think I’ve been harming the innocent all along?”
Cecelia’s gaze turned as cold as ice. “Just now, thanks to the testimony of Johnson, otherwise, you might have thought it was me who harmed Dana. But the truth is, which one of them is innocent? Your own descendants weren’t raised properly; they are all driven by greed and commit crimes. How can you blame all this on me?
“Good deeds result in good outcomes, and evil deeds result in evil outcomes. Your descendants are suffering from their evil deeds, and that’s because you and your father committed too many evil acts.””With your hands full of blood, how could they be innocent?”
After delivering this resolute statement, Cecelia turned around. “If you want me to give the Songo family a way out, then I want you to promise me one thing!”
“What is it?”
