Chapter 384 Cecelia Felt Her Intense Desire
“What is it? Just say it, Auntie.”
Cecelia listened attentively to her complaint.
Fiona handed the document to Cecelia. “Cecelia, these are all the shares of the Songo Group under my name. Now I transfer all of them to you! I hope you punish the criminal severely for me! Then I’ll be able to die without regret when my time comes!”
Cecelia could feel Fiona’s intense desire as she looked at the signed stock transfer agreement.
She nodded solemnly and said, “Don’t worry, Auntie. I’ll help you investigate the case of the Layton family! Please trust me. I’ll give your husband and son and so many other Laytons justice!”
“Okay, that’s fine.”
Hearing Cecelia’s promise, Fiona was moved to tears.
She trusted Cecelia sincerely, believing that she, a resourceful one, could deal with Chris and his accomplices.
Fiona had been living with misery to this day, simply because the Laytons’ grievance was not redressed.
If injustice could be redressed, she could die in peace!
“Auntie, it’s late. Go back to sleep. When the birthday party ends the day after tomorrow, all the devils will show!” Cecelia consoled.
After appeasing Fiona and seeing her off, Cecelia perused the stock transfer agreement.
For her, getting Fiona’s stock transfer agreement was something very surprising. She didn’t expect that Aunt Fiona could think so little of fame and fortune. What she only thought about were her husband and son, hoping to seek justice for them.
No matter what, with Fiona’s support, now she had more leverage, and the chance to reclaim the Songo Group had further grown.
In the dead of the night.
Cecelia and Remington met in their usual meeting place. This time, they got prepared, bringing a piece of meat wolf-dogs liked.
Since all the servants had to prepare things for tomorrow’s birthday party, all the hands in West Garden had been transferred away, leaving it unguarded.
Remington came here with Cecelia. As always, he stayed outside as a lookout, and Cecelia sneaked into West Garden.
She climbed the tree and went over the wall. Before she could touch the ground, the wolf-dog began barking as in the past.
Cecelia waited a while. Seeing the dog running over from the distance, she dropped the meat. Smelling the meat, the dog went over and stopped to eat.
The meat was mixed with some anesthetic drugs. Soon after finishing the meat, the dog fell to the ground.
Cecelia came down the wall and went in with ease.
When she came to Jesper’s place, Cecelia heard that something seemed to have fallen to the ground.
She pushed open the door, lit up the house with her flashlight, found the switch on the wall, and turned on the light.
When the house was lit up, Cecelia walked inside. Hearing a moaning coming from the inner room, she went in to find that there was an old man lying in bed. He was moaning in pain.
Just now, because of thirst, he reached out to grab the water glass on the nightstand but accidentally knocked it over.
“Jesper! What’s wrong with you?”
Cecelia touched the senior’s forehead and found he was having a fever. Jesper seems sick.
She immediately sent a message to Remington, asking him to get a thermometer and some fever reducers.
“Water… water…”
Jesper was in a feverish unclear state, slowly moving his chapped lips to mumble for water.
Cecelia brought water, helped the aged man up, fed him some water, then fetched cold water, and wrung out the towel to cool him down.
After bustling about for a long while, she received Remington’s reply. She went outside to get those things and then took the old man’s temperature.
It was 39. 3 degrees Celsius, a very high temperature. She fed the old man some fever reducers.
After about two hours, Jesper’s fever finally broke and his condition stabilized.
Cecelia brought hot water to help wipe away his sweat.
Jesper gradually regained consciousness and vaguely saw a person sitting on the edge of his bed, who seemed to be Miss Cassie.
“Miss… why did you come back…”
Jesper thought he had seen Cassie, struggling to sit up. “Miss… leave here now… Don’t come back! … Go…”
“Jesper, Jesper, it’s me! I’m Cecelia, the granddaughter of Cassie!”
Realizing it was a different voice, Jesper looked hard and found that the face was not Cassie’s, but that of the girl he had met earlier.
“You are… Cassie’s granddaughter…”
“Yes, Jesper. You had a fever, and it has just broken. Are you feeling a little better now?”
Jesper glanced at the basin and towel by the bed, realizing that she had been attending to him. Then a little gratitude grew in his heart.
“I’m feeling much better. What time is it now? How did you come in?”
Jesper was now in a clear state, not crazy at all.
