Chapter 376 Truth of the Songo Family
“I know it!”
“I know it too!”
Remington and Adam almost simultaneously said, “It’s Jackson!”
“Yes!”
Cecelia’s tone was resolute. “If everyone can match up in the story, then Jackson is the adopted son of the blacksmith.”
“In other words, Jackson was adopted by Edmond. He is not Edmond’s biological son, and they have no blood relationship.”
“Someone tampered with the Songo family’s genealogy and distorted the facts!”
This was also the main reason why they couldn’t find the true history!
Thinking of this, Cecelia couldn’t help but feel terrified, and a chill ran down her spine.
It was terrifying to think about it!
If that was the case, then Alfred’s father, Jackson, was the murderer who killed his adoptive father Edmond and his son-in-law Vernon!
As for Alfred’s entire family, the so-called descendants of the Songo family, had no blood relationship with the Songo family at all. They were leeches who disguised themselves to seize the Songo family’s wealth.
“I finally understand. No wonder my grandmother desperately fled Porema sixty years ago!”
“No wonder she was covered in injuries when my grandfather saved her. She must have been hunted by those people.”
The more Cecelia thought about it, the sadder she felt, and her inner anger grew stronger. “That’s why Aunt Ida warned me not to go to Porema before her death when I was investigating my mother’s whereabouts…”
Adam also felt angry and stepped on the brakes, stopping the car on the side of the road. He turned around and asked with red eyes, “Cece, what should we do now? I’m going to kill them!”
“Don’t do anything foolish! Kevin! We must seek revenge for our grandmother’s family, but we can’t act recklessly! We’re the only bloodline of the Songo family now. We must protect ourselves and find a way to deal with them.”
Cecelia stopped him in time.
“That’s right! Your sister is right. There are many ways to seek revenge. We’ll take it slow and plan carefully!”
Remington decided to give it his all and help Cecelia complete their revenge plan together.
After discussing the matter, the three of them had dinner before returning to the Songo family. Everything seemed the same as before, with no changes.
Remington and Adam went downstairs to prepare, while Cecelia went to find Alfred.
According to the servants, Alfred fell ill after being brought back today and still hadn’t gotten up.
She arrived at the main room where Alfred lived, and Johnson stood at the door.
“Johnson, is my great-uncle feeling better now?”
“He’s feeling better, Miss Cecelia.”
“I’ll go in and see him.”
Cecelia walked into the room and saw Carol chatting with her eldest daughter-in-law, Dana.
Neither of them had a friendly attitude when they saw Cecelia enter.
Dana spoke with a sarcastic tone, “Oh, look who’s back. I wonder what you want to get from the Songo family this time.”
Carol’s eyes were sinister and cold as she snorted, “Cecelia, the Songo family treated you like family. you scheme against your great-uncle behind his back? What have you done today? It’s nothing short of robbery!”
“Great-aunt, you’re being too harsh! How could it be a robbery? I just followed the ancestral teachings and rightfully inherited the Songo Dyehouse! With the land contract left behind by my grandmother, I am completely justified!”
Cecelia walked in and said fearlessly, “Even Great-uncle had no objections and supported me inheriting the Songo Dyehouse, so what do you have to complain about? What does the Songo Dyehouse have to do with you?”
Cecelia didn’t show them respect at all. Carol was so mad that she pointed at Cecelia but couldn’t say a word.
“Mom, please don’t get angry! Don’t fall for her tricks!”
Dana quickly supported Carol and soothed her back to calm her down.
Cecelia did not intend to let them off and continued, “Oh, by the way, I heard that I have a ninth uncle in the Songo family. Where is he? Why haven’t I seen him since I came back for so long?”
“How could there be a ninth son in the Songo family?” Dana rolled her eyes at Cecelia.
“Really? But I heard from outside that my great-uncle used to dote on a woman named Anisa when he was young, and that woman seemed to have given birth to a son for him, right?”
“Was he not brought back to the Songo family? Grand-aunt, or is it because you are strict and didn’t allow my great-uncle to bring that son back?”
“In my opinion, no matter how strict the family rules are, you shouldn’t abandon my great-uncle’s biological son outside!”
Cecelia just wanted to make them unhappy!
Cecelia intentionally rubbed salt into Carol’s wound. The so-called legal wife lost to the mistress, and it was easy to imagine that there was a thorn in Carol’s heart for the rest of her life.
“Shut up…”
Carol hated it the most when others mentioned Anisa, but Cecelia deliberately brought up this matter in front of her, almost causing her heart to stop beating.
“Cecelia, just shut up and stop talking nonsense!”
Dana felt that Cecelia was deliberately provoking Carol, which was really infuriating.
Cecelia looked innocent. “It’s not something to be ashamed of, so why not talk about it?”
Seeing that Carol was pissed off, Dana comforted her, “Mom, don’t be angry. Let me support you and go outside for a walk!”
As they were about to leave, Dana warned, “Cecelia, don’t talk about this matter again! It’s best if you watch your mouth!”
“I see. I came to visit my great-uncle, and once I’ve seen him, I’ll leave.”
Cecelia went straight to the inner room and saw Alfred who was lying on the bed.
Alfred was not asleep and had heard everything that was said outside.
He didn’t know where Cecelia had heard about his past with Anisa.
Knowing that Cecelia had come in, he pretended to be asleep, but he couldn’t fool Cecelia’s eyes.
“Great-uncle, I thought you were asleep!”
“Alas…”
Alfred’s pretending to sleep didn’t work, so he had to open his eyes and let out an aggrieved sigh, “Cecelia, you’re back. Have you had your meal?”
“Yeah. Great-uncle, what I did today was indeed sudden and caught you off guard, causing you to fall ill. I’m so sorry. Do you want me to call a doctor to check on you?”
Cecelia asked with concern.
“No need, I am fine…”
“That’s good then. I was really worried that you would get sick from being angry.”
Cecelia “thoughtfully” adjusted the blanket for Alfred and continued, “By the way, Great-uncle, I had dinner outside today and heard people say that you once knew a woman named Anisa. You originally wanted to marry her as your fourth wife, but why didn’t you marry her in the end?”
“Alas, don’t mention it…”
If it weren’t for Carol restraining him, Alfred would definitely have married Anisa. After all, Anisa had given birth to a son for him.
“It’s okay to talk about it, Great-uncle. I heard that Anisa was beautiful but had a tough life and died early.
“But I also heard that she gave birth to a son for you, and he was named Benson. According to the birth order, he should be my ninth uncle, and people outside call him Mr. Nine. Why didn’t you bring him back home?”
“The past is in the past, Cecelia. Don’t mention it, or Carol will argue with me again if she hears you.”
Alfred didn’t want to bring up the past, mainly because he was afraid of Carol’s schemes.
“Great-uncle, you are the head of the family. Why are you afraid of my grand-aunt? In my opinion, I can help you handle this matter. What do you think? Don’t you want your estranged son to come back to you?”
“What can you do?” Alfred was moved by her words.
