Sylvia shut her eyes and pretended to sleep. The man’s gravelly voice sounded through the door. “Sylvia, open the door.” Sylvia continued shutting her eyes and turned a deaf ear to the man’s calling. “I’ll count to three,” he warned with a cold voice.
