Sherry lost the mood to argue with John. She quickly carried the girl into her arms and consoled her. “I’m sorry, Caprice. Mommy was loud, wasn’t I? Did I scare you?”

Caprice nodded pitifully.

Sherry stroked her cheeks and said softly, “Mommy was being loud at Daddy, not you. But I promise you I won’t speak so loudly in front of you anymore.”

Caprice pouted and nodded. “Mommy, don’t be loud to Daddy too.”

Sherry had no resistance to the girl’s adorable voice, especially when she was her precious daughter. She nodded and said, “Alright. Mommy won’t be loud to Daddy anymore.”
