Isabel was curious about how he was doing in the company.

She asked, “Roland, can you tell me what happened after you came back here?”

Roland hugged her into his arms and said, “Two months ago, when I first came back…”

He told Isabel a few things that happened.

When he first came back, Decker told him to leave, but he stayed.

He worked hard and secured a big deal that Decker had been working on for years and it made the shareholders look at him differently. The shareholders were once friends with his late grandmother and father, so based on his recently outstanding performance, they took his side.

Then, his grandfather got to him and made him go back to Rockwells’ old mansion. His grandfather tried to persuade him to leave the company but he refused.

He continued working hard and secured a few more deals, which strengthened his position in the company.

He made it sound easy but only he knew how difficult it had been.

Besides, Decker never stopped targeting him from the dark. Even his grandfather was trying to pull him down secretly.

Isabel’s chest clenched knowing that he had been fighting alone.

However, it was his fault for leaving her without saying a word and making her think that he wanted to break up. He deserved it.
