Lillian sneered inwardly, her heart as cold as ice. She shut the door behind her with a soft click and turned to face her nemesis, Brielle, lying on the hospital bed.

Brielle’s face was flushed with fever, an IV needle piercing the back of her hand, pumping life–saving fluids into her bloodstream.
