Chapter 167
Cynthia noticed that Ellora clearly understood the situation, so she did not bother with it any further. Later, she prepared a room for Ellora and took her to buy some clothes.
By the time they were done, it was already past five o’clock.
If it were not for Moses phone call, Cynthia would have almost forgotten about the dinner at Old Neal Manor tonight. She quickly briefed Ellora on some matters and hurriedly made her way there.
When Cynthia arrived, it was already past seven o’clock.
“You’re young, but you surely are arrogant. Do you think it’s appropriate to make all of us wait for just you?
a man who resembled Joshua’s father spoke up.
Cynthia recognized this person. He was Joshua’s uncle, Henry Neal.
The Old Neal Manor was very lively tonight. Besides Old Man Neal, Joshua’s parents, Felix and Daphne Neal, Felix’s second brother and his wife, Henry and Lilian Neal, as well as Felix’s third brother and his

wife, Duane and Irene Neal, and their children were there.
Being late was indeed her fault, so Cynthia simply apologized to the crowd, “I’m sorry.”
“Apologizing is something anyone can do. This is the Neal family. Don’t think that just because you’ve married into the Neal family by marrying Joshua, you can disrespect your elders,” Henry continued, showing his disdain toward Cynthia as she had no prestigious background.
Old Man Neal could not stand anyone speaking ill of his beloved Cynthia. Before he could reprimand Henry, a deep and somewhat chilly voice suddenly sounded, exuding a strong sense of pressure. “Uncle Henry, it would be better if you directed those words at yourself.”
“What do you mean?” Henry was displeased.
“Cynthia is a part of my family,” Joshua said.
Cynthia was confused.
Old Man Neal, Felix, and Daphne appeared satisfied. It was evident that they were pleased with Joshua’s actions.
Henry, unaware of Old Man Neal’s fondness for Cynthia, kept badmouthing her. “Dad, look at what Joshual has become now. He disrespects his elders for a woman who only knows how to climb the social ladder. Clearly, Felix and Daphne failed to educate him properly.”
Felix casually glanced at Joshua and calmly remarked, “Indeed, we haven’t taught our children to behave as Henry does.”
Everyone remained quiet.
They all knew that Henry’s son, George Neal, was a complete failure!
He was useless in business and poor in academics. All he knew was to enjoy himself, never doing anything productive.
For a moment, there was a strange atmosphere in the hall.
