Chapter 266
“As long as you kill Joshua, I won’t hold you accountable for what you failed to do before. The man touched Jayleen’s face, his lips curling into a smile, his voice soft and slow as he added, “And I’ll grant you wealth, prosperity, and everything you
desire.”
Jayleen clenched her hands tightly at her sides, wanting the man dead!
The intense pain from earlier still lingered on her body. It was the result of the torture inflicted by this man after she failed to complete her mission and sought protection for her family.
Several times during that period, she had contemplated ending her own life, but she was indignant.
Why should this man be allowed to live?
The man admired the madness and hatred in her eyes, his smile growing even more audacious.
“You want me dead?”
Jayleen’s pupils trembled, and an uncontrollable chill and fear coursed through her body.

“That’s something you can never achieve,” the man said, his large palm resting on her cold, drenched face.
I felt warm, but Jayleen could help but sense the danger.
“Do you think you can defy me just because your grandmother and brother are being protected?” The man’s thumb caressed her face gently, his voice low.
Jayleen remained silent, but within her heart, an infinite worry and fear swelled.
“They are being protected, but if I want to kill them, no amount of protection can save them. Do you understand?” the man spoke slowly.
“Why me?” Jayleen’s eyes were bloodshot due to her sleepless nights filled with torture during this period.
Because you were Joshua’s first love. The man tilted her chin, showing no concern for her hatred. “He won’t suspect you for getting close to him, nor will be expect that a weak and incapable person like you would actually try to kill him.”
“Cynthia would be more suitable than me,’ Jayleen thought, but she did not voice it.
Jayleen felt guilty toward Cynthia.
She had already betrayed her before, and although Cynthia helped her without holding a grudge, Jayleen could not drag her into this dangerous and desperate situation.
“You’re overthinking “Jayleen struggled to hold back her tears. “After what happened last time, he no longer trusts me.”
“Just do as I say,” the man replied.
Jayleen bit her lip, her entire body aching from the wounds. Then, she looked at him and said, “Murder is a criminal act in my home country,”
After you take care of him, I’ll have someone bring you here. You won’t face any retaliation or arrest, and you’ll have a peaceful remaining life.” The man’s voice was deep and alluring
Jayleen did not believe him.
Murder was against the law, and there was no escaping that.
