The competition was the most important part of the Antiquities Trading Hall. Sometimes, it was even more eventful than the auction of the precious antiques.

The competition today was definitely very interesting and attracted a lot of attention.

The competitors included the son of the chairman of the powerful and rich Boreal Group in Hattan, and Darren Langley, a renowned authenticator, who was helping him. The other was a brilliant newcomer to the scene. This sort of match-up was unusual indeed.

As the organizer began the proceedings, Dustin and Killian sat facing each other at a table.

Darren and Luna were standing behind Killian and smiling sinisterly. They could already imagine the tantrum Dustin would throw when he lost.

Meanwhile, Simone looked worried as she stood behind Dustin.

Although she knew that Dustin had a lot of skills, experience and a discerning eye were not the only things needed when it came to these competitions. Besides, even the most impressive people made mistakes.

The fact that authentic pieces and counterfeit ones looked exactly the same was not the only hurdle. Often, the organizers would intentionally set traps for the competitors so that it would be much more difficult to confirm the authenticity of the items.

"You will definitely lose this competition today!" Killian said to Dustin with great conviction.

"You talk too much," Dustin said expressionlessly.

"Let's see if you can stay this calm when you lose!" Killian chuckled.

With that, the organizer announced the start of the competition.

Someone placed two antiques on the long table. They were two stationery holders that looked exactly the same. Apparently, it used to belong to an ancient poet.

"The authentic piece is worth 300 thousand dollars. You will each put down 150 thousand first. Then, you can bet between 300 thousand to 600 thousand," the host said.

"Let's go for 600 thousand, then," Killian said without hesitation as he stared at Dustin.

"Sure." Dustin nodded.

When they both agreed on the sum, they each began their examination.

Dustin was very calm. He did not move around. After eyeing the two stationery holders, he no longer made any attempt to do anything else.

Meanwhile, Killian was smiling and not moving around much either.

Darren had brought out a magnifying glass and a small flashlight. He frowned as he scrutinized the stationery holders.

After a while, Darren straightened up, signaled to Killian, and pointed at one of the stationery holders.

Killian took out his phone and glanced at it before nodding and pointing at the same stationery holder Darren picked.

"Since you've both picked that one, I'll choose this one," Dustin said.
