Freya’s eyelashes flickered slightly.

All the memories from the two years she spent with Radley and the past year came rushing back.

Freya tried to prop herself up, but she fell back onto the bed when her hand gave way.

She mustered all her strength to turn over, only to find that she had no strength in her entire body. And so, she could only stare at the ceiling.

After a while, Freya smirked and laughed at herself.

Where did she get the confidence to think that she and Radley could start over again?

Freya lowered her gaze, and in this moment when all the memories came flooding back, her heart felt like it was about to explode.

It was as if the floodgates of emotions had been opened as her heart was filled with nothing. but Radley.

That sense of unfamiliar humility, like vines, slowly crept into her chest and wrapped around her heart.

Freya lay there for a while before raising her gaze to look at the sky outside. The sky was just beginning to brighten. It was probably around 5 a.m. or 6 a.m.

Not wanting to disturb her aunt’s rest, she quietly lay there until 7:30 a.m.

When Ashley got up and rubbed her eyes, she met Freya’s dark and calm eyes as the latter lay in the hospital bed.

Taken aback, Ashley closed her eyes and opened them again.
