Chapter 1062

Genevieve had wanted to wait for Armand to come to the government building before questioning him.

However, she had a lot of work that day and was very busy. Armand, too, had no time to talk to her after he arrived as he went straight to a meeting with the leaders before going out into the field.

It was not until after two in the afternoon that the two finally had time to hang out in the same office.

After requesting Genevieve to pour him a cup of coffee, Armand unfastened the top button of his shirt to get some air while asking her, “Did you have dinner yesterday?”

Genevieve placed the coffee cup on his table and replied stiffly, “No. I didn't feel like eating.”

“You won't gain much weight just by eating a bowl of meatballs. It'll be easy to develop a stomachache if you consistently miss dinner,” Armand said in exasperation. Genevieve tends to eat irregularly when no one keeps an eye on her.

At the thought of the two children, Genevieve could no longer hold back her silence. “Do you have something to tell me?”


She had thought a lot about it the night before. It's not that I can't accept it since it's understandable for him to have children at this age, but he can't keep it from me and put up a facade of an innocent, good man in front of me.

“You guessed it?” Armand had noticed that she was in a bad mood. He massaged his temple and replied, “I'll get Melissa to go to Regality Gardens later. I can't go back with you tonight.”

Amanda was feeling sick that morning from hitting her forehead and her stomach was giving her problems. Armand had requested a leave of absence from school for her.

He would have been taking care of his daughter at home if it were not for the fact that he had too many things to take care of.

Genevieve knew there was no way Armand would not know what she was going to ask him given his intelligence. The fact that he's still hiding it from me can only mean that he doesn't want me to know about the two children.

She turned and returned to her desk as her heart sank.

Armand glanced at his wristwatch before picking up the coat on the rack and putting it on. Before leaving, he coaxed her, “What would you like to eat tomorrow morning? I'll make it for you, okay?”

“I'm going to attend a team-building event with a few colleagues downstairs tomorrow.” Genevieve continued flipping through the documents. “I'll be leaving at six in the morning.”

She had wanted to schedule her time with Armand, but the man had informed her in the morning that he would not be participating and had asked her to remove his name from the list.

She surmised that he intended to spend his vacation time with those two children.

Armand knew where the team-building event would be held, but he was too preoccupied with worrying about his injured daughter at home to notice Genevieve's mood. He hurriedly left after saying a few words to her.
