Sally quickly stood in front of him to block his path as she said in the most endearing tone possible, “Come on... Don't be angry, okay?”

Cooper let out a cold snort. “Why would I be angry? It's perfectly fine for you to love my eyes, but please don't be thinking of another man while having sex with me. It really turns me off!”

“I wasn't thinking about him. When I took a closer look at your eyes earlier, I realized that they don't look all that similar to his. He's a soldier, so the look in his eyes is always stern and filled with righteousness.” Sally looked up and stared deeply into Cooper's eyes as she continued, “Yours, on the other hand, are gentle and kind.

That tiny difference made her realize that their eyes weren't as similar as she had thought.

Cooper yanked the towel off his head and flashed her a sarcastic smile. “If our eyes are that different, then why did you space out earlier? Don't tell me it's because I'm too skilled in bed!”

Sally's lips moved slightly, but she couldn't seem to find the right words.

The look on Cooper's face turned gloomy as he pushed her aside and stepped out of the bathroom.

Unsure of what else to do, Sally quickly ran after him.

“I really wasn't thinking about him. I have no reason to lie to you, and you know it!” she exclaimed when she saw him going straight to bed.

“What were you thinking about, then?” Cooper asked.

“I was thinking about you. The fact that you used to look at other women with those eyes of yours makes me really uncomfortable,” Sally replied while standing next to the bed.

“Are you jealous?” Cooper asked with an eyebrow arched after a brief pause.

“We're a married couple. How could I not be jealous if you're thinking about other women?” Sally said the exact same thing he said earlier that afternoon.

While Cooper had no idea how much of her statement was the truth, he did feel a lot better after hearing that.

“So, are you not angry anymore?” Sally asked softly as she rested a knee on the bed and flashed him a gentle smile.

Cooper twirled her hair around his finger as he replied, “I still am. You only answered my question the second time, so I feel like you were stalling to come up with a lie.”

Sally pursed her lips in response. The next thing he knew, she got up and walked out of the bedroom without looking back.

It all happened so quickly that it took Cooper quite a few seconds to realize what she just did.

Is she going to sleep in Amanda's room again because she's mad at me? Can I not even question if she's telling the truth anymore?

Cooper massaged his forehead as he contemplated going after Sally, only to have her return seconds later with a bottle of red wine and a glass.

The faint yet fragrant aroma of the wine filled the room and gave it a romantic vibe.
