Sophia paused and turned to look at Matilda. "What's wrong? Has the news spread out there?"

Matilda nodded and sighed. "The rumors out there are so messy that we don’t know which one is true. Everyone is merely guessing. It may take a while before the false news goes away and the truth is revealed."

Sophia nodded. After all, she didn't know much, so she couldn't comment on it. Then, she turned around and went to the dining hall, but she kept her ears open as she listened to the talking outside.

Sighing, Old Mrs. Constance said, "Things are really chaotic at the Bailey Family recently."

Matilda said, "Mrs. Bailey has already left. She was sent away by Isabelle. I guess she has not yet recovered from the grief of losing her son."

Old Mrs. Constance pursed her lips for a moment. "This grief will accompany her all her life. How could she recover from losing her child at such an age? Nobody can bear this shock."

Narrowing her eyes, Sophia ate her meal quickly, and then came out of the dining hall.

By then, Matilda and Old Mrs. Constance had changed the subject, and they were talking about Matilda and William. The two were looking for a suitable time to remarry, and they had decided to live at Matilda’s place for now. Matilda said that after remarrying William, she still wanted to temporarily keep her current life. Instead of making it public knowledge, she wanted to just casually inform some relatives and friends about the remarriage.

At this, Matilda also briefly mentioned Yolanda. She said that she had used William’s phone to post to social media. Then, after she talked with William, she deleted Yolanda from William’s contact list. As a result, Yolanda called the next day to ask William why.

As she talked about that, Matilda laughed, looking a little helpless. "I was the one who answered the phone, and the entire conversation was between me and Yolanda."

Matilda was pretty straightforward about it. At that time, she told Yolanda that she was the one who deleted it and said that she didn't want Yolanda and William to have any contact in the future. Yolanda was good at adapting to any situation thrown at her, so she kept explaining that she and William had no romance going on between them. Also, she said that she hoped Matilda wouldn’t mind about their friendship.

Matilda naturally believed in William. So, she said very clearly to Yolanda about how William had promised her that he had nothing to do with Yolanda. She also believed that the two of them did not have that kind of relationship. But personally, she didn't want another woman to meddle from time to time in her relationship with William, and she hoped that William did not have any random woman around him as well. Furthermore, she hoped that Yolanda could understand that her existence had caused trouble to the couple, and this trouble was not only felt by Matilda alone, as William also understood the issue.
