Cindy immediately thought of this as well. She replied with a nod, “You’re right. It’s thoughtful of you to have it considered.” However, when Ian joined the shooting later, she would probably have to accompany him as her personal assistant, which would definitely spark off all kinds of slanderous rumors again. Cindy frowned at the thought of this. After Ian sat down, she asked first, “If I go with you to the film set, will they think that I’m there to keep an eye on you?”

Ian raised his eyes to look at her. “Will they?”

“Why won’t they?” Cindy replied. Her analysis was closely reasoned and well-argued as she continued, “Just look at those celebrities. Whenever some say they’re carrying on with someone during filming, their boyfriend or girlfriend will visit them on set at once, and people will say they’re there to warn and intimidate them. If I go to the set with you every day, will everyone think that I’m working as your personal assistant to keep you under my watchful eye?”

Ian blinked his eyes. “You do make some sense too.”

Cindy pouted her lips at once. “You guys won’t fire me because of this, will you? Will you then tell the public that you’re keeping me out of sight to keep me as a pet?”


Ian laughed at her words. “What are you thinking about? How could I have the nerve to fire you when you’ve got something on me?”

Cindy quickly turned Ian’s words over in her mind, and her eyes widened. “You’re right—I’ve got something on you. In that case, you should talk to me with a better attitude instead of intimidating me at the drop of a hat.”

Ian looked at her helplessly. “You said you graduated from college, so why are you not as quick-witted as I am?”

Cindy let out a snort. “Look, you’ve started ridiculing me again. You really have got some nerve, bud.”

Ian hurriedly scooped up a ladleful of dishes and put it into her bowl. “Okay, I’ll be as nice to you as possible from now on. For now, let’s hurry up and eat. Ah—”

Cindy couldn’t help but laugh.

They were now getting along better and better. After dinner, Ian went to the sofa and lounged on it like an old man, whereas Cindy put the dishes into the dishwasher. When she turned around, came out, and saw him like that, she gave it some thought before she went to get a thin blanket to cover him with. She had slept rather long just now and was now feeling energized. Meanwhile, Ian had no filming schedule this afternoon. He didn’t have an overcrowded schedule for this month, which meant that Cindy didn’t have much to do all day today.
