Next One Is a Babe

Chapter 1484

Her nap was a little long; by the time she woke up, she was bleary-eyed and her mind was hazy.

Cindy walked out of her room. She saw that Ian’s door was ajar, but there was no sight of him in the living room. Then, she walked over to his door and glanced inside, but he wasn’t inside his room either. She frowned and called, “Ian.”

There was no answer, so he had probably gone out. The first place that Cindy thought Ian could have gone to was his mother’s home. Aurora lived nearby, so Cindy didn’t have to worry about his whereabouts. She didn’t bother calling him to ask where he was either—all she did was begin to make dinner. Cindy thought that Ian would not have anyone around tomorrow when she took a break, so she ended up making a lot of food.

Dinner consisted of Ian’s favorite dishes. However, Ian still wasn’t back by the time she finished cooking. Hence, Cindy whipped out her phone and dialed Ian’s number. In fact, she wanted to ask him if he wanted to call Aurora over for dinner as well. After all, there was plenty of food to go around.

In the end, Ian didn’t answer her call. Cindy called him two more times, but all her calls went unanswered. She frowned and put down her phone. After staring at the food on the table for a bit, Cindy went to pack her things.

Ian had given her a three-day break, so she’d better think about what she should do. She hadn’t thought of going home. It was too far, and just the trip back and forth would take up an entire day. Hence, three days of leave would not be enough. Besides, she also wanted to meet Gary during one of those days. That day spent traveling would be the most harrying day out of those three days, and the remaining two days after that would not be enough for her to run around for other errands.

Cindy remembered that Naomi had called her earlier, saying that she was coming over for a business trip. When she thought about it, she hastily phoned Naomi.

Naomi answered rather quickly, a jovial tone in her voice. “Cindy, you’re finally free to call me? Did something happen?”

Cindy leaned back on the couch. “Didn’t you say that you’re coming over to this city? When is that happening?” she asked lazily.

Naomi sighed. “Oh, you. I originally wanted to surprise you, but then you had to call me and ask about this. You’re really not letting me keep an air of mystery.”

Cindy laughed then. “Why? Is it because I asked you straight up?”
