A while later, Ian replied, “I’m not stuck in the past.”

He wasn’t defending himself because what he said was the truth. Indeed, he wasn’t caught up with the past since he hadn’t thought about Sophia for ages now.

Back then, he would reflect on his past whenever he was free, but it always ended up as an uncomfortable experience.

However, it didn’t happen again recently. Even if he had time on his hands, his mind was no longer filled with memories of her.

Ian couldn’t figure out the reason behind the sudden change. Maybe it was due to his mind suppressing those thoughts or the influence by some external factors.

This was why he was frustrated with himself.

After listening to him, Logan sighed. “When I was talking with Sophia before, I could see that she was blaming herself. She felt that she had wasted a lot of your time, so she really hoped that you could start a new life. Even though I’ve never met your assistant before, if she is a nice girl, I will still give you my blessing. As you can see, all of us are supportive of you two, so why don’t you give it a shot?”

At this point, Logan was being slightly cheeky with his words.

However, Ian immediately furrowed his brows. It’s not as simple as ‘giving it a shot’. This is a serious matter that can’t be casually dealt with.

Suddenly, he fell silent as he didn’t know how to reply to Logan.

Something had fallen to the floor and shattered into pieces before it was accompanied by Cindy’s groan.

Without realizing what was happening, Ian quickly threw his phone aside and rushed out of the room.

At this moment, she was standing in the kitchen and hopping on the spot with one leg. Beside her on the floor was a shattered cup and a pool of water.

He quickly rushed to Cindy’s side and asked, “What happened?”

Just as she was about to say something, she immediately blushed after looking at him. Then, she instantly averted her gaze.“I-It’s nothing.”

Then, Ian realized that he only had a towel wrapped around his waist and nothing else.

He also felt slightly awkward, but it wasn’t the priority at the moment as he looked at the floor. “Is it hot water?”

Cindy replied in the affirmative, but back was still facing him.

He speedily went to the sink and retrieved some cold water to pour on her foot.

After removing her socks, he could see that the instep of her foot was now burning red.

Then, he poured the cold water on the wound several times before he finally helped her to sit on the couch.

In the meantime, Cindy kept her head down, refusing to look at him.

Actually, Ian had also felt awkward. So, the moment she sat down, he immediately returned to his room and changed into something decent before coming back.

There was a medical kit in the house that had everything but ointment.

Cindy had prepared it, but because she probably hadn’t expected something like this to happen, she didn’t buy a bottle of ointment.
