Next One Is a Babe

Chapter 1713

Cindy felt slightly upset. After all, this wasn’t the Ian she knew. The person she knew would never have done something like that.

Meanwhile, Ian kept his eyes on her face. In fact, there wasn’t any unusual expression on her face; her lips were tightly pressed together and she did look slightly uncomfortable.

‘Everyone in the industry knows that Miss Noble has a fiery temper.’ Ian instantly realized who she was talking about with that single sentence. She must have misunderstood and thought that I was on the phone with Yulia last night!

Just then, Cindy looked quite upset so Ian couldn’t help but jump to this conclusion. Is she upset because of her headache, or could it be because she assumed that I was in contact with Yulia late last night?

At the thought of this, Ian somehow suddenly felt like laughing as he was quite tickled by her cute reaction.

He hadn’t realized it before but now, he found that Cindy was quite an interesting woman indeed. She had a character that was quite unlike any other beautiful girls he had gotten to know from the entertainment industry.

Ian paused to think before responding, “I’m not sure whether Yulia’s managed to resolve her problems. Previously, her popularity was affected because of me and I think the magazine was affected too. I wonder whether everything is resolved?”

Meanwhile, Cindy spoke in a cold voice. “I thought you just spoke to her on the phone last night? Why didn’t you take the opportunity to express your concern?”


Indeed, I was right! She has misunderstood and linked everything to Yulia. Ian’s lips curved into a smile.

He smilingly replied, “How did you know I spoke to her on the phone? I didn’t even tell you who it was!”

In response, Cindy opened her eyes and glanced at him from the corner of her eye. “Do I look stupid?”

Ian nodded his head and responded to her question, “You might be.”

Upon hearing that, Cindy glared furiously at him. However, she subsequently realized that he was just stating his opinion and perhaps he reckoned that she was stupid. That explained why he dared to brazenly flirt with her and then share sweet moments with Yulia thereafter.

Presently, Ian’s hands were still busy massaging Cindy’s temples and he paused for a moment before reaching down to pinch her cheek.

Truth to be told, he didn’t quite like being misunderstood. He was fine with joking around but once there was a misunderstanding, it could turn quite awkward and it might even escalate into an irrevocable situation.

As such, he immediately explained to her, “When did I tell you that I was on the phone and texting with Yulia? I’m not that close to her so there’s no way I would call or text her in the middle of the night!”

Meanwhile, Cindy paused for a moment and shifted her body slightly so that she could look at him from a much more convenient angle.

She recalled everything carefully and realized that in actual fact, he hadn’t mentioned that the person who called and texted was Yulia.

However, Cindy couldn’t figure out who else it could be, other than Yulia. It can’t be Logan, right? He has a wife and kids so I don’t think he would call or text Ian in the middle of the night!

Just then, Ian withdrew his hands from Cindy’s face and he placed both his hands on each side of her body, thereafter leaning in toward her.
