Next One Is a Babe

Chapter 1867

Ian might have been wearing a cap and a mask, but those in the supermarket were still able to recognize him.

Cindy, on the other hand, was using only a mask. She wasn’t trying to mask her identity and since she had been recognized by others as well, she didn’t try to run and hide either.

Perhaps seeing Yulia today had prompted her to show up in public with Ian and she was no longer anal about it as she had been once upon a time ago. He wasn’t bothered by the attention he was receiving from the astonished shopping crowd either as he sauntered through the aisles while pushing the cart, looking comfortable with Cindy next to him.

The both of them bought a lot of stuff, most of which were homeware.

Back in the day, Cindy tried to avoid being seen in public with Ian like this, but now, she was starting to enjoy it. Maybe she was slowly adapting to her role, and with it came a strange indifference that made her brush off public scrutiny with ease.

They strolled around the supermarket for a while before heading home, whereupon she decided to get started on lunch.

She had barely whipped up any dishes when news of her and Ian being sighted at the supermarket was uploaded on the Internet.

It was a wonder at all that petty news like this could circulate around the Internet so quickly and one couldn’t help asking just how much time those gossip-mongers had on their hands.

Ian scrolled and found the news article and photos before he brought his phone over to Cindy to show her.

She gave the news a cursory glance, then felt a sadistic twist of joy as she thought, I wonder if Yulia is reading this right now.

The news came attached with candid photos of her and Ian at the supermarket; the camera caught them just as they stood close to each other, gazing at the seafood selection.

For some reason, the photo made it look like they were an intimate couple. There was another photo of them where Ian was seen with his hand on the top of her head, making it look like he was ruffling her hair with indulgence and affection.

Cindy had forgotten about that gesture of his and even though the press could be faulted for being so nosy, there were times when they were admittedly of great help.

Well, at least that’s one photo I can approve of, she thought in amusement before she laughed as she continued with her cooking. “Word sure gets around fast. Do you think they’re squatting right outside our home now, hoping that at some point they will get their hands on some coveted information about you?”

Ian parted his lips, then smiled as he mused, “Who knows? Maybe they’re just trying to ride the wave before things at the Morgan Family blow over for good. Right now, the drama is still ongoing over there.”

It was only then that Cindy remembered how the publicizing of Bryce’s will had taken the netizens by storm and the heated discussion that followed was beyond comprehension.

More importantly, Ian was one of the highest-trending stars now and it was no surprise that the media would make him the latest subject of their write-ups.

He now waited in the kitchen, and when she was done cooking, they brought the dishes out to the dining table.

The table had been set, but before either of them could take their seats, Ian’s phone began to ring.

He didn’t have many friends to begin with and he was rather surprised that somebody was calling him now. He fumbled to fish his phone out of his pocket, muttering quietly, “It’s probably Sean. He doesn’t have a lot of people to talk to, so I’m his designated confidante.”

Alas, the person calling was not Sean, but Simon.

As things were, Simon had become the public laughing stock after Bryce’s will was made public.
