“You’re very light,” replied Jackson. He was telling the truth. Although Serenity was over 160 cm tall, Jackson estimated that she weighed no more than 45 kg. He would make sure to feed her well from now on.
She leaned her face against his back. It felt very warm. When was the last time she had been carried like this? She could onl remember her mother carrying her like this when she was a child.
However, the memory was very fuzzy because it was so long ago.
“Jack, you’re so nice,” she murmured.
“Are you going to say that I’m a nice guy again?” he asked.
“What I’m trying to say is, you’re a really nice little brother. I’m so lucky to have a little brother like you,” she said.
Little brother… His eyes flickered slightly.

When this game started, wasn’t he the one who chose to stay by her side as a younger brother? She asked him to call her Sis.
But now, it seemed like he no longer wanted her to think of him as just a younger brother. He wanted… more.
Jackson carried Serenity to the hospital’s main entrance. Not long after, Lisa drove over.
After they got into the car, Lisa started complaining angrily about the things that happened earlier that day.
Although Jackson already got the rough story from Connor, his face still hardened when he heard Lisa tell it.
“Joy Shaw was way over the line. Not only did she ask the staff to kick us out, she even tripped Serenity on purpose. Serenity’s lucky she didn’t get seriously hurt!” Lisa was furious. “Joy Shaw thinks she can do anything she wants because her family’s powerful!”
“Her family…” Jackson quietly repeated. His tone seemed to carry a hint of mockery. “What’s the big deal with the Shaw family?”
“Don’t you look down on the Shaw family,” Lisa may dislike them, but she still had to explain the truth to him, “The Shaw family has a deep foundation and a lot of connections in Solaria. The Shaw Group belongs to that family, as well as various
other companies.”
Lisa thought Jack might not know about the Shaw family’s background since he was a homeless man, so she gave him a quick explanation.
She then added, “Joy Shaw knows that even if we sue her, she can hire the best lawyers, so the worst that can happen to her is that she has to pay compensation. That’s why she’s not scared at all!”
“Then we won’t sue her,” said Jackson.
