When she looked at him with those loving eyes, when she smiled at him and called him “Jack”, when her hands wrapped. around his neck and her sweet breath rushed into his nostrils, he felt as if he was intoxicated too.
“Looks like I shouldn’t have said that I wouldn’t touch you when you’re drunk,” he murmured. This was the first time be would go back on his word, and it was all because of her.
He bent down and kissed her on the lips, so fondly and so lovingly.
He did not know how long the kiss lasted, but when he finally stopped, he found that she had fallen asleep again.
“She’s so…” He was overcome with a rare feeling of helplessness. She was probably the only person in the world who could fall asleep after messing with him!

He stared fixedly at the woman in his arms. After a while, he sighed and covered her up with the blanket again. He then got out of bed and sat down next to her.
“You owe me one, okay?” he whispered, his voice drifting across the quiet house.
The little rental house no longer felt as cold as before. There was warmth in
air.
When Serenity woke up, she was shocked to see Jackson sitting by her bed.
“What are you doing here?” she stammered.
“Do you think you can walk back on your own after getting drunk?” he answered with a question.
It all came back to Serenity then. Yesterday she seemed to have drunk a lot of wine. In fact, all she could remember from last evening was her drinking a lot of wine in the restaurant’s private room.
“After you sent me home yesterday, you didn’t… go home?” she asked in bewilderment. He could not have sat there the whole night, right?
