“I used to live here, didn’t I? We used to sleep together in the same room every night,” he said calmly.
Those words sounded… way too suggestive!
Serenity bit her lip, “But…”
“But what?” he asked.
“There’s no extra bed for you. I already put away your mattress and blanket. You’d have to wash them and sun-dry them before you use them or they’d smell.”
“That’s all? Not a problem,” said Jackson. He took out his phone and made a call.
Not long after that, there was a knock on the door.
Serenity went to open it. She saw Connor and a few bodyguards she had seen with Jackson in the hospital outside. They walked in with a mattress, a blanket and a pillow.
Each person who walked in would say, “Sorry to bother you, Miss Lewis.”

All of them said that to her.
Serenity’s mouth twitched. What could she say in reply? The only thing she could say was “It’s okay”
After they put all the stuff down and arranged them properly, they left.
Serenity and Jackson were left alone in the house again.
Serenity stared at the mattress on the floor. It was in exactly the same spot as before. She also used to lay down a mattress on
the floor for him to sleep on.
“Are you really going to sleep here?” she asked hesitantly.
“Of course,” he answered.
Was this another one of his games? Otherwise, why would he sleep in this cramped house when he had a much more comfortable place to sleep in?
Did he want to experience more of the poverty lifestyle?
As for her… there was nothing she could do but to accept it.
She looked down and said no more. She grabbed a change of clothes and walked towards the bathroom.
Suddenly, a pair of arins held her from behind. “I just want to stay here for one night. It’s her birthday today.”
Serenity froze, “Who’s her?”
He did not answer. He merely buried his head deep in the nook of her shoulder and murmured in almost a pleading tone, “Let me stay here tonight, just like before. Is that okay, Sis?”
She was stunned. He was obviously Jackson Valor, but he was talking to her with Jack’s tone.
