Chapter 205
Serenity had had very little time to sleep every day for the past few days. She had work during the day and was busy. researching and knitting gloves at night. Early this morning, she had taken the bus to the town and had a busy day.
Therefore, it was not long before Serenity closed her eyes and unknowingly drifted off to sleep.
Lucas glanced at Serenity and turned down the volume slightly.
The sleeping Serenity reminded him of the young girl in his memory. In fact, Serenity resembled the young girl when awake, but there was a striking difference in her eyes
The present Serenity had a depressed look in her eyes like she had been beaten up by life, but the young girl’s clear and bright eyes had been filled with endless hope.
When Serenity woke up, the car was already parked at the entrance of her residence area.

Embarrassed, she quickly unbuckled her seat belt. “How long have I been sleeping?”
“Well, not long,” he said.
Serenity hurriedly got out of the car and took her bag. However, she was so hasty and accidentally spilled the contents of her bag on the seat.
Serenity was sweating profusely and hurriedly picked up the things that had spilled out of her bag. However, Lucas was faster and picked up her half-knitted gloves.
“Are you knitting gloves?” Lacas asked in surprise
“Yeah. I’ve nothing else to do, so I’m knitting something.” Serenity scrambled for an excuse and quickly took the gloves back from his hand. “Thank you,” she said again. Then, she closed the car door and hurried into the neighborhood.
Lucas watched her figure fade from view through the car window. He thought about the gloves earlier. Judging by the size, the glove seemed about the size of a man’s hand. Was she knitting it for a man?
It was rare for a woman to knit something for a man. Was he family? If not, it would only mean one thing. The wool, however, was old. Lucas wondered who she was knitting the gloves for. After pondering for a moment, Lucas started the engine and
drove away..
Serenity went home and took a shower. After that, she took out her cell phone and checked her savings.
The money she had saved since her release from prison was less than 750 dollars,
When Serenity was at the hospital, she had asked about her grandmother, Emily’s medical expenses. Emily owed the hospital a few hundred dollars, but she would incur more money if the treatment continued. Serenity conservatively estimated another 7,500 dollars for Emily’s follow-up treatment. After that, it would depend on Emily’s condition after the treatment.
