Chapter 212
1/2
Serenity’s role as an extra today was to be a maid. All she needed to do was stand at the designated spot set by the director and keep her head low. Not only that, she would not be the only maid in the scene, but merely one of a group of maids. They had to wait till the main characters walked by, then, at the director’s call, all of them were supposed to kneel down in unison, then say, “My lord. My lady.”
And that was it.
Because the scene involved kneeling, her pay was increased almost twofold. Serenity thought about it. and decided to do it anyway since it was just an act. Besides, even some popular actors had to kneel in their roles. When survival was on the line, one must swallow one’s pride and not care too much about one’s knees.
The makeup room for the extras was a big spa c ious room with many makeup artists in it. All the extras, whether male or female, had to wait in line here to get their makeup done. The makeup artists worked really fast on each extra, barely needing five to six minutes to complete the makeup for an extra.
“Oh!” the makeup artist cried out when it was Serenity’s turn. “You’ve got a scar on your forehead!”

Serenity trembled a little, then said, “Yeah.”
The scar was on her forehead, near the scalp. It was, in truth, quite inconspicuous, and most people did not notice it at all unless they looked at her face carefully. It had been caused by an injury when someone had attacked her in prison. Because it was never treated properly, a scar formed after it healed.
Serenity knew exactly why the makeup artist mentioned it too. As a maid extra, she was required to have a hairstyle where her bangs had to be smoothed back completely, revealing her forehead, and hence the
scar.
“Would it be a problem?” she asked, nervous. She had been worried that Jenny Hall would cause her trouble, but now, she was even more concerned about whether or not she would be able to keep this job. Do you think I can still keep the maid’s role?”
“Don’t worry,” the makeup artist assured her. “I’ll use a thicker layer of powder there, and it’ll be perfectly concealed.”
Serenity’s makeup was then completed a few minutes later. She looked into the mirror and was surprised to find that the scar really was invisible now.
She left the makeup room and waited for her turn to be in front of the camera. Just then, she noticed a familiar face on set. It was not Jenny Hall, though, but her sister, Aria Lewis!
Serenity froze. She could never have guessed that not only was Jenny Hall a part of this crew, but Aria as well!
Aria appeared to be a huge celebrity now. Her entourage trailed behind her, Including a few assistants, one of which was holding up an umbrella above Aria, one was holding her handbag, and another one was reading her lines for her to make it easier for Aria to get immersed in the scene she would be filming later that day.
