Chapter 562
“That’s… Lucas!”
He seemed slightly different than usual with his messy hair and wearing a casual white shirt and belge pants. His face was mostly in the shadows, though.
His dark eyes bore into hers under the cold moonlight but with a touch of confusion instead of the usual coldness. That gaze made Serenity feel uncomfortable. It was as if he was looking at someone else through her.
Lucas moved and came closer to her.
“Have you been drinking?” Serenity asked reflexively. She could smell the alcohol oozing from his breath.
“Yeah. A little.” Lucas chuckled softly, his eyes watching, her more intently.

Serenity pursed her lips slightly. “It’s late. I’m heading home. Goodbye,” she said and stepped away, intending to leave.
Before she could walk away, his hand grabbed hers, pulling her into his arms. She trembled in his embrace. Lucas reeked of alcohol. It was far stronger than what she had thought.
He had definitely drunk more than a little wine! How much had he consumed?!
“Let go!” Serenity yelled, but his grip on her remained strong
“Tell me. How can I find you? I’ve been looking for you. It’s been a long time, but I can’t find you! I can’t.”
Serenity stiffened. Did Lucas just… Did he mistake her for someone else? His words did not seem to be directed at her.
“Mr. Gomez, please let go of me. You’re drunk,” Serenity said. His arms were so strong that her struggles seemed useless. The difference in strength between men and women in such times became apparent.
“Drunk? It would be nice to be really drunk. Do you know how much I want to be drunk?” Lucas rasped in a low murmur.
“I don’t care who you think I am. You’d better let go, or else…”
“Or else what?” Lucas lowered his head, putting his face closer to hers, almost touching the tips of their noses.
As his scent surrounded her, the strong smell of alcohol made her jolt in alarm
She could have communicated with the normal Lucas, but how could she reason with someone drunk?!
