The next day, news of Lucas’ breakup with Aria became a trending topic on the internet. Posts suggesting that Serenity was the cause of their breakup were quickly removed.
One could safely say that Serenity was removed from the equation completely.
Because Lucas himself had plenty of ex-girlfriends, the public wasn’t all that surprised that he had once again broken up. After all, there were so many more celebrities who were more popular, beautiful, or better-educated than Aria. In fact, some thought that their breakup was inevitable.
Compared to Laicas” exes, Aria had virtually nothing going for her.
Many speculated that because of this incident, Aria’s status in the showbiz industry would take a nosedive. In the past, many were envious of her position as his girlfriend. After what had happened, she was nothing but a mere “ex-girlfriend”.
In Aria’s apartment, Grayson and Catherine looked at their daughter with worried expressions. They had learned of the breakup not from her, but from their neighbors.

The neighbors had said to them smilingly, “Don’t worry about it too much. That man’s a p layboy, anyway. Consider it your daughter’s luck to be able to date him. Otherwise, Aria would have still been stuck playing some minor character. How else could she have become a lead character and appear in those TV commercials?”
The couple almost exploded with rage when they heard that. On their way here, the residents of their neighborhood had pointed at them while whispering among themselves.
This was partly their own doing, given that they had paraded around town boasting that their daughter was dating Lucas Gomez and about the expensive gifts she received from him. They even went as far as to say that she was going to marry into
his family.
Aria was a way for the family to recover from the shame of Serenity’s conviction.

“Aria, is it true that you broke up with Lucas? Is there no way to fix the relationship?” implored Catherine,
“Yeah, how could you just break up with him like that?! I thought your relationship was going well!” Grayson chimed in.
“It’s not that easy to get back with him!” said Aria dejectedly. Once a man like Lucas had made his decision, he wouldn’t be
swayed that easily.
What’s more, in the end, she was just a substitute. To him, she was merely a pair of lips that reminded him of the person he longed for.
