“Didn’t you always look forward to overturning your case? Why have you gone quiet all of a sudden?” asked Jackson. “The evidence…can they really overturn my conviction? Can it really reveal the truth?” murmured Serenity to herself.

The sight of her in tears moved him. He quickly pulled out a naplan and dried her tears. “Come now, stop crying. I gathered all this evidence to help you overturn your conviction, not to see you cry.”
Seeing her in tears made his heart ache.
However, hearing him say those words only made her tear up even more. It was as if the pain and injustice she had endured over the past few years had finally come pouring out of her heart..

Serenity wrapped her arms tightly around him and bawled her eyes out.
