Chapter 2: He Accompanies His Widowed Sister-in-Law’s Labor

She stood at the door of the hospital room and saw Sunny Reed handing Walker Grant water. He didn’t even reach out to take it, instead leaning in to drink right from her hand.

Chloe Reed clutched the divorce papers tightly. The moment she pushed the door open, Noah Grant—his little face flushed from his fever—shuddered and began to cry in Walker Grant’s arms.

No one had expected her to show up.

Walker Grant’s sharp brows knitted together. He asked in a deep voice, "Chloe, what are you doing? Noah just fell asleep."

"What does that have to do with me?" Chloe Reed retorted. "And what does it have to do with you? Is he your son? Why do you care so much?"
