Chapter 205: Suing for Divorce

Chloe Reed chuckled. She sighed softly and said, "But I don’t want to drag you into this. When Walker Grant goes crazy, he’ll turn on anyone, even family."

Miles Hawthorne fell silent, and for a moment, neither of them spoke.

After a moment, Miles Hawthorne said, "Chloe Reed, we were classmates, after all. You need help, and as a former classmate, I want to give it."

A warmth spread through Chloe Reed’s chest, and a faint smile touched her lips. She adopted a deliberately casual tone and said, "Well, I guess I’ll have to pay you a little extra for your legal fees. Being my divorce lawyer comes with a lot of risk, after all."

Miles Hawthorne chuckled. "Don’t worry. Other than having me deported, there’s not much else he can do."

Chloe Reed’s fingers clenched, a new resolve hardening her gaze. "Alright. I’m moving forward with filing for divorce."

"Okay," Miles Hawthorne replied. "I’ve already prepared the paperwork. Since you’re determined to file, I’ll have someone submit it to the court. The next step is the court will send a mediator to speak with both of you. It’ll all be out in the open then, so be mentally prepared."

"Okay," Chloe Reed agreed, then added with heartfelt gratitude, "Miles Hawthorne, thank you."
