The car pulled up to the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Chloe Reed got out, documents in hand, and spotted Walker Grant’s car parked a short distance away.

The car door opened, and a tall, well-built man stepped out. He wore a black suit with no tie, giving him a roguish air.

He glanced at her, his dark, almond-shaped eyes holding her gaze for a long moment before he turned and headed into the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Chloe Reed followed him.
