Patrick inclined his head in response. Kevin knew as well that Gwendolyn and Lucy were best friends, so it was no surprise that she would show up at the hospital every day following Melanie's surgery.

Just as she reached for the grapes, Lucas extended his hands to cover the fruit bowl.

“You've had half of them! The rest are mine.”

At that moment, he was dissatisfied with Gwendolyn. In any case, she and Pat appear to have gone through a rough patch recently.
