Chapter 145: Do You Think I’ll Let You Go?

The servant kept nodding her head. She felt uneasy, but she slowly muttered, “Young Madame, the air in the guest room smells bad. Mr. Beckham told you to stay in the young master’s room and he would stay in the guest room. Please take your rest. If you need anything, please let me know.”

With that, the servant quickly ran away as if there was something scary chasing her from behind.

Hayden did not catch up with her. The old mansion was really big that she lost her way after she had overlooked it. She couldn’t find her way out, so she just went with the flow.

She took a deep breath and began looking around the house.

Joseph’s room was as simple as the courtyard; the furniture was all made of scented rosewood. His room was facing south, and it was separated into two sections. The section facing east seemed like a study room. The door was half-opened, revealing a desk with a writing brush and a fine writing paper on it.

Was he still practising calligraphy? Hayden was a little surprised, so she pushed the door open and went in.

A paperweight was placed on top of the fine writing paper that had been nicely cut. After taking a close look at the content of the paper, Hayden burst out laughing while holding the edge of the table.

Two words, ‘Extremely boring’ were seen on the paper.

In this upright environment and solemn atmosphere, who could have imagined a strict man like him would write such a thing on the paper?

She laughed at the thought of that man sitting solemnly at his desk, holding a brush and writing these conflicting words.

Hayden was suddenly in the mood when she saw a few papers that were thrown into the garbage can at the side, so she squatted down and took it out.

The first paper scribbled ‘this is so annoying’, the other wrote ‘what a bad weather’, and one of it even wrote ‘wake up early tomorrow’.

Hayden was laughing so hard at the series of nonsense calligraphy that she didn’t even realize Joseph coming in.

“What are you laughing at?”

Joseph walked towards her and asked.

“Oh my, why did you appear suddenly?” Hayden subconsciously threw the paper in her hand away and gently patted her chest.
