I hated that I was doing this, but the happy look on Judy's face was almost worth

it. She was oddly beautiful when she smiled; it felt like it was a rarity to see, but I've seen it a lot today. Doing her favorite things, eating her favorite foods, relaxing, and having fun... it was actually kind of nice. I never got to do this kind of thing before.

When I was a kid, I stayed with my aunt for a weekend while my mother went on a drinking binge and my father was too busy with his work to really care about his son. My aunt was the one who took me to the theme park with her children and husband. It was the worst experience of my life, and I ended up spending the rest of the time in the car while they enjoyed themselves. All I wanted to do was go home... but I was stuck there.
