She then continued, “He wanted to destroy your reputation, so he found me and asked me to get close to you and find a way to get you addicted to drugs. I didn’t want to, I really didn’t, but I didn’t want to stay in that cage any longer either. I wanted to escape. Xavier, I beg you. Can you please forgive me?”“Forgive you?” Xavier thought he had heard the joke of the century. “Why don’t you try putting yourself in my shoes? If you were me, would you have forgiven yourself?
