James did not expect Alex to be the one who hit his wife.

The woman was utterly dumbfounded when she saw James begging on his knees. “What is wrong with you, James? Why are you the one kneeling?”

Even Ms. Winston couldn’t bring herself to believe what was going on.

However, James didn’t dare say a word for fear of angering Alex even further.

“You get up right this instant, James!” the woman shouted furiously. I thought he would teach this punk a lesson, but he just got on his knees the moment he saw him! This is so embarrassing!

“No, you should kneel too! Mr. Jefferson is not someone you can afford to offend!” James snapped back at her.

The woman went wide-eyed with shock and disbelief. “W-What did you say?”

“Did you not hear a word I said? I told you to get on your knees and apologize to Mr. Jefferson!”

Scared out of his mind, James grabbed his wife by the arm and pulled her onto her knees.
