Because ultimately, justice should be dispensed in an orderly manner – through the legal system. If people could take vengeance into their own hands, society would end up in chaos.

“I understand. It’s just difficult for me to reconcile the fact to my emotions, especially after seeing what happened to my mom.” If she had known there were better ways of seeking help, things would have been different. She was glad that there were now better laws and a more accessible system to uproot domestic violence in society.
