Crash!

Felicity swept her arm across the table to shove all the glasses onto the floor.

Bailey is Anonymous? This is absurd! This is ludicrous! How can she be Anonymous? How can she possibly be Anonymous? This can't be. That b*tch shouldn't be this talented. She shouldn't be such a gifted individual in the medical industry.

Felicity had once declared that she would kneel before Anonymous to beg her to step into society after finding out where Anonymous lived.

Does that mean that I... said that I was going to kneel before Bailey?

“Mrs. Luther, are you okay?” the person in charge asked in concern.

Felicity waved her hand dismissively, but she still could not reel in from the shock of the revelation. “Please go out. I need to be left alone for a while.”

The man parted his lips but said nothing, for he was afraid that he would say the wrong things that would infuriate Felicity and make things worse for himself.

Hence, after a moment of hesitation, he led the female staff member out of the room.

Once he closed the reception room door behind him, he promptly said to her, “Hurry up and call Mr. Luther. Inform him about the situation, and have him pick Mrs. Luther up as soon as possible. I'm worried that something might happen to her here.”

“Of course.”

In the infirmary at the Chivers residence, Glen was leaning against the headboard and watching television. After he found out about what happened, he tilted his head to glare at his grandson. “Brat, you knew who she was long ago?”

Edmund chuckled softly before saying, “Grandpa, she's quite aloof and keeps a low profile. If not for Aunt Felicity's aggressiveness, the rest of the world would probably have never known that she's the famous doctor Anonymous who had studied under and inherited the skillset of the pioneer of surgery, Cataleya.”

Glen contemptuously huffed twice before muttering, “No wonder she did not hesitate in saying that she's fifty percent sure about the chances. So she is Cataleya's student. Cataleya had led a lonely life as she poured all her efforts into medical research. I'm glad to hear that, at the very least, she had someone to pass her mantle on to.”

Edmund smiled before handing a fruit to Glen. He then teased, “Are you satisfied with such a brilliant granddaughter-in-law?”

“I've been happy with her since the first time I saw her. Pay more attention to her and cultivate your relationship with her so that you can marry her earlier.”

The other man became speechless.

The judicial officer took a personal trip to the police station to meet Bailey in the reception room.

It had been a major misunderstanding—they had detained an internationally famous doctor as a criminal who worked in the medical field illegally. The pressure the judicial officer and his coworkers felt at that moment was worse than two mountains stacked together.

After his higher-ups learned the details of the situation, they gave him a harsh scolding and ordered them to settle the case properly; they must not let Anonymous feel any resentment toward the court, which would, in turn, affect the contributions she made to the medical industry.

Bailey could not help but chuckle when she saw the shaking men and women. “Isn't this just a misunderstanding? What's wrong with you detaining me according to the law? I was the one who didn't make a clear explanation, so you were berated by your higher-ups. This even left a mark in your records. Sorry, I've troubled you all.”

The judicial officer quickly inclined his head and gave her a polite smile. “You've got a big heart, Ms. Jefferson. In contrast, we seem a little shallow. You were unable to prove your identity in jail, and even if you did say it to us verbally, we probably wouldn't have believed you. Fortunately, the king is a man who cherishes the gifted ones; he did not want to see his once savior be wronged, so he stepped in and cleared your name despite the pressure.”

Bailey raised a brow and smiled. “I'm indifferent to many things, and fame isn't something I adore. When an old friend taught me medicine back then, she told me that my medical skills are not for me to flaunt, for doctors are meant to be benevolent. If not for this, I probably wouldn't have revealed that I'm Anonymous and have troubled you all.”

“It's no trouble! No trouble at all!” the judicial officer quickly stood up from the chair and bowed at Bailey. In a sincere voice, he said, “Your magnanimous demeanor has impressed me. Perhaps only someone like you, who have no love for fame, is of interest to the people like Master Gadzinski and Ms. Cataleya Moore. That's why they've chosen to impart their knowledge to you.”

Bailey stood up and returned the bow with a smile. “I'm a legal citizen here, so I have the duty to cooperate with your investigation. You don't need to take this to heart. As to whether or not I'll contribute to the medical industry... How do I say this? As long as I'm still needed, I'll still be there.”

“I'm glad to hear that!” the judicial officer cried out. “Ms. Jefferson, you're a reasonable person, and it's the medical industry's honor to have you here. I look forward to your upcoming accomplishments and findings in the medical industry.”

“That's kind of you.” Bailey then raised a brow and asked, “Now that everything has been cleared up, may I leave? The treatment for Old Mr. Chivers' illness can't be delayed any further; I have to head back to study his treatment plan.”

An impressed look crept upon the judicial officer's face. He wistfully remarked, “Mrs. Luther has sued you and made you end up in jail. Yet, not only do you not harbor a grudge for this, but you're even returning her misdeed with a good deed. This is proof of your morals.”

Then, he moved aside to open up a path for her. “Ms. Jefferson, this way, please. To express my apologies, please allow me to send you back myself.”

A chuckle escaped Bailey at that. “You really don't need to be so courteous. I'll think of this as an experience. It is but a thrill in my life.”

She's easy to talk to.
