The server tossed Bailey onto the couch before he spun around to head to the bathroom.

He had just taken two steps when a dagger shot to his front from the back and pressed against his neck.

“Stay still. Otherwise, your life will be forfeited.”

A shudder ran through the server, and he stammered, “I-I'm only doing this for the money. As the saying goes, every injustice has its perpetrator, and every debt has its debtor. If you want reprisal, you should seek out the culprit who hired us to kidnap you.”

Bailey smiled, arching an eyebrow. Without warning, the dagger bore down another inch. In a split second, bright red blood trickled down the blade.

Due to the pain, the server reflexively cried out, only to be gagged with a wad of tissue.

“Well, what did that man earlier order you to do?”

“Uh...”

“You're not talking? Then, it means that you choose death. Okay, I'll grant you your wish.” Bailey gave a low chuckle.

As her words fell, her dagger pressed down once more. In an instant, the flow of blood increased in speed.

The server's eyes went wide, but he was gagged, so he could only produce muffled noises.

Deliberately ignoring the terror on his face, Bailey remarked with a half-smile, “You're still unwilling to speak? Fine, then. I'll cut deeper. At that time, even God himself can't save you when your neck is severed.”

While she said that, the dagger in her hand pressed deeper again.

“Mmph!” The server was in such a panic that tears escaped his eyes. He reached up and removed the wad of tissue in his mouth.

“I'll talk! I'll talk, okay? Please don't torture me anymore.”

Smirking, Bailey quirked an eyebrow. “Oh, that's right. You were gagged, so you couldn't speak. Sorry!”

Dropping to his knees, the server pleaded with tears streaming down his face, “Please spare me, miss. I'll tell you everything, okay? That gentleman told us to kidnap you and text Artemis Luther with your phone, asking him to meet in Room 501 on the sixteenth floor. As for his intentions, I really haven't the slightest idea—”

Before he had finished speaking, Bailey struck him at the back of the neck and knocked him out.

Taking out her phone from her pocket, she keyed in Artemis' number and gave him a call.

The call failed to connect, for the voice prompt of “the number you have dialed is not in service” drifted out from the other end of the line.

It was evident that the man's phone had been encrypted to block unknown numbers.

“Well then, I can't reach you, so don't blame me for not alerting you when you fall into a trap.”

Despite her words, Bailey still gave Zayron a call.

“Cadence went to Room 501 on the sixteenth floor. He likely went to set Artemis up. Don't make a move first. Wait until he has left Room 501 before luring him out of the hotel. Understood?”

“Just lure him out of the hotel? Do you need me to knock him out and finish him off without leaving a trace?”

“Zayron Jefferson!”

“Okay, okay, I'll do as you say. I'll obey you to the letter, okay?”

After hanging up the phone, Bailey was in no hurry to leave. She waited in the room for ten minutes before she received a text from Zayron.

It read: Cadence knocked Artemis out and drugged him. Then, he texted Rhonda, urging her to come over right away. That's all I've got. Now, I'll make my move and lure Cadence out of the hotel. Go and enjoy the view in Room 501. Remember to snap a few extra photos so that we can blackmail Mr. Luther after that and get some money out of him.

Bailey replied: Buzz off!

Tossing the phone away, Bailey swiftly left the room.

She was currently on the sixteenth floor. Coincidentally, Room 511 and Room 501 were only separated by a long corridor.

As soon as she pushed open the room door, wave after wave of a peculiar smell came rushing at her.

Holy sh*t! How did Artemis offend Cadence that the old geezer actually used such a potent drug on him?

Eyeing the man on the bed, she propped a hand against her forehead in exasperation.

D*mn it! Why does this scene give me a feeling of an innocent rabbit voluntarily offering herself on a silver platter to a rabid dog to be defiled? If she even has an ounce of sensibility, she ought to stay far away from him. A man who's turned on is dangerous, but one who's out of control can no longer be described thus. He has probably lost all reason and is no different from a beast right now. When Rhonda comes over later, she can be his best antidote. Should I just...

No sooner had that thought popped into Bailey's mind than she nipped it in the bud.

Ultimately, he only fell into the trap because of me. He trusted me, so he came over to meet me with his guard down, but he ended up in hot water. As such, how could I stand idly by?

On top of that, she felt exceedingly uneasy, downright repulsed by the thought of him sullied by Rhonda.

Click-clack! Click-clack!

The sound of high heels against the ground sounded from outside. Bailey cursed inwardly, for she had never expected Rhonda to arrive so quickly.

It looks like she is so eager that she can't wait anymore!

In a flash, she hid behind the cabinet at the side.

Click!

The door swung open. The person who walked in was indeed Rhonda.

With the illumination of the dim lighting in the room, Bailey could see the elation on the woman's face.

In the next second, she actually started undressing without a word.

As she stripped, she stared down at Artemis on the bed condescendingly. Grinning wickedly, she declared, “I missed the opportunity seven years ago, but I'll never again miss it tonight. I'll definitely make you my man, for sure!”

Bailey was stunned.

What did she mean by having missed the opportunity seven years ago? There seems to be some hidden information behind her words.
