Over in the CEO's office, after greeting Zoey, Artemis went over to his table and took out several keys from the drawer.

“You always stay at the mansion by the beach every time you visit Hallsbay. I figured you might have a special sentiment for that place, so I transferred the place to your name. Now you don't have to come over whenever you come to Hallsbay. You can go over there directly,” Artemis said, passing Zoey the key.

The smile on Zoey's face froze, for the true reason she fancied that mansion was because of Artemis.

Since Artemis had gifted her that property, it meant that she could no longer spend time with him under the same roof.

To Zoey, there was no point in keeping that mansion if that was the case.

“I-Isn't this your residence? Where will you stay now that you gave it to me?”

Artemis quirked his brows.

I'd better not forget that woman's warning on the balcony the other day. I'm to marry soon, so I should not get too close to any woman—including Zoey—even if she saved my life.

“I'm about to have my own family soon, so I'll stay with my wife. The mansion by the beach is not my ideal home for a family, so I'm thinking about making another home for her.”

The last shred of smile on Zoey's face faded away.

His wife? Does he mean Rhonda? He's never shown any interest in her over the past seven years. What made him change so drastically?

“Right! You're about to get married soon! I haven't even congratulated you.”

Artemis smiled faintly. Suddenly, he caught sight of Bailey walking out of the office on the opposite side through the window. He looked down at Zoey, saying, “I have to get going. I'll ask Dwayne to send you to the mansion later. We'll have a meal some other time.”

With that said, he took his phone and ran outside.

“Artem...” Zoey's voice trailed into silence when she realized Artemis had already dashed out and was nowhere in sight anymore.

The room fell silent, and Zoey clenched the keys in her hand.

Rhonda Jefferson! It's been seven years! Why are you still alive?

Over at the company's elevator, Bailey pressed the “close” button and watched the doors shut before her absent-mindedly.

She could still hear Artemis and Zoey's laughter from the CEO's office ringing in her ears, and the sound vexed her beyond measure.

Ding!

Suddenly, the alarm rang, and Bailey looked up only to see someone inserting their hand into the elevator.

Without saying a word, Bailey grabbed the person's wrist and peeled off the hand from the door.

Crack!

The rattling sound of bones being crushed by the elevator door rang crisp and loud, and a sharp gasp followed.

“You stone-hearted woman,” Artemis noted from the outside as he squeezed his way through the gap.

Once he got in, he pushed Bailey against the wall and questioned in a hoarse voice, “Who pissed you off? I'll teach him a lesson.”

Bailey looked away. “There's no need for that. I've already done that,” she said snarkily.

It took Artemis a while to understand what she meant.

“Are you jealous, dear?”

Bailey's body froze, and she glared at him. “Why are you here? You've got a beautiful lady who came all the way from overseas right in your office. Why don't you go and spend time with her? Get away from me.”

Artemis chuckled lowly.

She must be jealous. This is a good sign.

“She came to take the mansion's keys.”

Bailey became even more upset when she heard that. “Scram!”

“I already transferred her the ownership of the mansion, so it belongs to her from now on and has nothing to do with me anymore. I've already asked Ken to pick up my things. I don't have a place to stay now, my dear. Are you willing to take me in?”

What the actual f*ck? He's so shameless!

Bailey was initially angry about what she saw earlier, but after Artemis joked around with her, she managed to let off some steam.

“You're generous, aren't you, Mr. Luther? The mansion costs at least hundreds of millions. You might become broke after gifting all your property to your female friends at this rate.”

Artemis grinned and lowered his head to Bailey's ear. “Come on, Zoey saved me before. She might have a mansion, but you're the ultimate winner here. You wouldn't have a husband if she didn't save me.”

He's so brazen!

“Ouch! My hand still hurts, Bay. You can get angry later, but could you help me pop my bone back first?”

Bailey glanced at him coldly.

The truth was that she felt a lot better after hearing Artemis out.

She figured she should not probe into the matter as to why she felt vexed in the first place.

Bailey held his wrist and twisted it forcefully. His dislocated joint was adjusted to its original position with a crack.

“I don't have an extra room at Shelbert Condominium, so you should just go back to the Luther residence.”
