Lionel lifted his head and narrowed his eyes at her as he sized her up.

He had not expected her to give in.

After all, he remembered Victoria as a stubborn and hard-headed girl who would not easily yield.

Hence, he was surprised that she would agree to such demeaning terms to save her father.

Hah, great.

An inexplicable storm of rage boiled inside of him.

Lionel sprung from his seat and stormed past his desk to get to her side. In a swift motion, he pinched her chin and uttered through gritted teeth, “Have you really decided to do so?”

Victoria turned her head aside and said in a calm tone, “Do I have any other choice? Are you saying I should just do nothing and watch as my sickly father dies behind bars?”

Enraged, the veins on Lionel's forehead popped. He took a look around the office and transfixed his gaze at the southeast corner of the office where the lounge was as a cold glint fleeted across his eyes.

“Great. Then you should play your role as a mistress today,” he snapped.

He dragged her into the lounge and threw her on the couch.

Lionel bent forward and claimed her lips in an overbearing manner.

Victoria was taken aback at first. However, she soon gave up on trying to resist the man and slowly closed her eyes.

If this was an irredeemable sin, Victoria was willing to be a degenerate.

Even if she was to be shamed as a homewrecker, Victoria could not bring herself to break free from the fierce tenderness.

Seeing that Victoria was not making any attempts to resist him, Lionel grew brazen.

After all, she was the woman he loved. They had only become estranged because of a fateful twist back then. Besides, his love for her had not faded. On the contrary, it had only grown stronger with time.

Lionel reckoned that she was the only woman who could make him lose all rationale.

Ring! Ring!

Right then, the unwelcome sound of a phone ringing could be heard in the spacious yet empty lounge.

It snapped Victoria right back to her senses as she started to struggle in an attempt to free herself.

“Lionel, your phone is ringing. Please stop.”

Asking a man to stop when he was overwhelmed with desire was worse than killing him.

Lionel paid no heed to her and carried on.

Victoria started to sob as he was essentially forcing himself onto her. What does he take me for?

Streams of hot tears rolled down her cheeks. Lionel, who was kissing her, stopped himself right away.

The taste of the warm liquid made him flinch as he returned to his rational self.

“Do you have to be so impatient? I've already agreed to your conditions. You can choose to exercise your rights at any time. But do you have to do it right now and right here in the Saunders Group's CEO office?”

Lionel narrowed his eyes at her as an inexplicable glint fleeted his eyes. When his phone rang again, he took the pants that were tossed aside to retrieve his phone.

Then, he realized that it was Wendy.

Victoria saw the caller ID as well. A pang of guilt festered in her heart right then.

She was a homewrecker who was ruining someone else's marriage.

One day, she would be ostracized and suffer everyone's contempt.

Lionel cast a glance at her and made his way to the floor-to-ceiling window aside.

“Wends, what's the matter?”

Victoria could not hear what Wendy had said on the phone. However, she noticed that Lionel's expression darkened as he asked, “So, is Yonathan all right?”

After Wendy answered him, Lionel hurriedly replied, “Okay. I will get there as soon as possible. Please ask the doctor to stop the bleeding first. I'll give Justin a call and ask him to go over and take a look. Don't worry; I'm around. Nothing will happen to Yonathan, all right?”

After hanging up, he strode over to the side of the couch and picked up the clothes strewn across the floor in the lounge. After putting on his clothes, Lionel left without even turning his head to spare Victoria another glance.

He did not care to explain anything to Victoria and acted as if she was not even there in the first place.

A wry smile crept up Victoria's face as she watched him leave.

The man had a wife, a wife that birthed him an adorable son.

Something must have happened to Lionel's son, judging from his reaction to the phone call.

The thing was, he left right away when his wife called.

Hence, he was just treating her as a disposable mistress whom he could summon and dismiss at his whim.

It was a hard pill to swallow, but Victoria had no choice but to face the bitter truth. After having gone through what she had gone through, Victoria did not harbor any hope that he still loved her.

Meanwhile, in a deluxe suite at a five-star hotel, Raiden slammed a stack of documents on the desk.

“Look at what you've done,” he said.
