Hearing that, Bailey raised her brows.

“How can that be possible? You're the one in charge of the battleship. Are you going to let Artemis take me away while we're in your territory?”

Raiden shook his head with a smile. “Of course he's not going to do as he pleases on my territory. If he dares to cross the line and go against the orders of the army, I'll shoot him and send him to meet his maker. Still, I'm guessing he won't risk his life to challenge my patience. After all, he's a global millionaire with assets worth trillions. He has a wonderful life, so why would he gamble with it?”

“That's that, then.” Bailey shrugged before reaching out to pull open the door and get into the car.

Raiden couldn't help but laugh. “I'm not worried about Artemis coming after you; I'm worried that you'll feel reluctant to part and return to him yourself.”

Bailey waved her hands dismissively and uttered, “That's impossible. If I was reluctant to leave, I wouldn't have asked you to get me out of here with a battleship. It's not a simple favor to owe you, you know?”

Raiden got into the car as well and chuckled. “You've contributed much to the country, and a reward for that is due. But fame and money aren't your things, so I didn't ask for that for you. Just take this battleship trip as a reward from the government for the 5G core technology. This won't be a personal favor, so be at ease.”

Bailey blinked.

It'll be great if that's the case.

She truly did not wish to be indebted to Raiden. It was not because she would not be able to repay the favor another time but because his feelings for her made her want to keep a distance from him.

Artemis alone was already a massive headache. Bailey was not interested in having another man who had the power of the army become obsessed with her.

The car moved slowly, but in no time, it sped off.

The journey was a smooth one.

As Raiden had said, Artemis did not dare to provoke him, as he had military power. With just one order from him, the sky would rain bullets and fill Artemis with holes.

Once they reached the port, Raiden led her onto the battleship.

“Which route are we taking?” Bailey asked with a frown.

Raiden folded his hands behind his back and surveyed the choppy waves on the deck before saying, “We'll be heading west along the inland sea until we cross the border. I'm sure you have a way out once we're out of the country, right?”

Bailey nodded. “Yes. All you need to do is send me beyond the border. Thank you.”

“That'll be easy.”

The battleship started moving and slowly made its way out of the shallow waters toward the seemingly endless ocean.

Bailey continued staying on the deck, watching the bustling city fade from her sight. Her eyes darkened.

She had been coming and going from various places freely all these years.

Yet, in Hallsbay, she had developed a bond she found hard to let go of.

Her heart had changed drastically.

Goodbye, the city that has made me lose myself.

Meanwhile, at the port, Artemis was standing at the highest spot, watching the ocean with a pair of binoculars.

Ken walked over to him and lowered his head. “Mr. Luther, news has come from the military port. Mr. Fletcher's battleship that Bailey is on has left for the sea.”

Artemis ignored him, his gaze still fixed on the ocean.

There, a ship was slowly heading toward the deep waters.

Artemis' gaze darkened.

Bailey, Bailey. I'm surprised you even thought about taking a battleship to leave this place. Should I say that you're smart, or should I say that you're stubborn?

“Is the sniper ready?” he quietly asked as he lowered the binoculars.

Ken hesitated for a moment before saying through gritted teeth, “We can head overseas to look for Ms. Jefferson after this. There's no point risking your life like this. Although the sniper I've hired is one of the best, we can't guarantee that nothing will go wrong. If the target moves—”
