Indeed, it's sufficiently sickening. Regretfully, she's destined to be disappointed.

“Really? Sorry, but I'm not the person who married you. Instead, it was a random beggar I ordered my men to find from the streets. I had him go to the Security Agency and change his name, so he ended up with the same name as me.”

At once, Rhonda's pupils constricted.

The smile on her face froze at that very same instant.

Finally, fear showed in her eyes.

Gaping at Artemis in disbelief, she countered in a quivering voice, “No, that's impossible. It's impossible! I'm your wife, the wife of Artemis Luther. Back when we registered our marriage, it was even the person in charge of City Hall who handled things personally. You're lying to me, right? You're bluffing, aren't you, Artemis?”

Artemis snorted coldly, a trace of scorn and disgust flashing across his eyes.

He threw her on the ground abruptly before snagging a few pieces of tissue from the tissue box at the side and wiping his palms unceasingly.

Meanwhile, Bailey sighed softly and murmured, “She's not in her right mind anymore. Have her sent to the mental institution.”

Reaching out, Artemis hugged her around the waist. “Honey, sending her to the mental institution is too light a punishment for her. I think we should hand her to the beggar to be his wife. The best fate for her is to continue the family line for her husband. What do you think?”

At that, the corners of Bailey's mouth twitched violently.

I've long since known that he's cold and ruthless. Today, I've witnessed it at long last. Well, that's indeed the most severe punishment for her.

“Okay. I'll leave it to you.”

Having said that, she whirled around and headed out.

In the past, no matter how much she provoked me, I'd always stop without taking things too far in consideration of the blood ties between us. But now, after learning that I'm likely not a descendant of the Jefferson family, I no longer have a reason to spare this woman. After all, she has nothing to do with me.

“One day, sooner or later, Bailey, you'll rot in hell!”

Rhonda's malevolent curse rang out behind her.

Nonetheless, Bailey merely continued walking. Slowly, a devilish smile curved her lips.

“Really? Too bad, but you won't be able to witness it, for you'll die way before me. Enjoy the love of that beggar husband of yours. As a woman, you should carry on the family line for your husband after marriage. I'll be waiting for the good news of your pregnancy, Rhonda.”

“I'll haunt you even in death, Bailey!”

Curses of a similar nature drifted into the air endlessly.

In the CEO's office at Saunders Group, Lionel reclined in his swivel chair with a newspaper in hand.

It was clear as day that he had made the headlines.

The title was also exceedingly eye-catching, reading: The mysterious sugar daddy of the daughter of the Saunders family is Lionel Gezmond of LG Corporation.

As he stared at the picture on the front page of the newspaper, his eyes narrowed a fraction.

At that precise moment, his assistant pushed open the door and came in.

“I've already found out the identity of the person who leaked the news and photo to the media, Mr. Gezmond.”

“Who was it?”

“Rose, a celebrity under LG Corporation. She once won the Oscars for three consecutive years. Besides, she's good friends with Mrs. Gezmond and secretly met up with her a few times in the past few days.”

Bam!

Lionel slammed the newspaper in his hand onto the desk hard.

“What did you just say? Repeat that again.”

His assistant was promptly taken aback.

He was a perceptive individual, so he instantly surmised that his words weren't appropriate upon seeing that his employer had flown off his handle. Quickly changing his tune, he said, “It was Rose, a celebrity under LG Corporation. She hates Bailey but can't do anything to her, so she can only sabotage those around Bailey.”

Calming down slightly, Lionel replied in a placid voice, “Got it. You're dismissed.”

His assistant went silent for a moment before venturing, “The rumors out there are growing in intensity. Shouldn't you host a press conference to clarify things?”

Lionel said nothing, waving a dismissive hand to shoo him away.

After sitting on the swivel chair for a while, he picked up his car key from the desk and left the CEO's office.

Leaving Saunders Group, he headed home directly.

In the garden of the Gezmond residence, Lionel was greeted by the sight of Kimberly pruning flowers with Wendy no sooner had he walked in.

He stood at the entrance for some time, his resolve regarding the decision he had made strengthening all the more.

“Why did you come back at this hour, Nell?” Wendy's voice drifted over from the garden, making it clear that she had spotted him.

Striding over to the flowerbed, Lionel said to Kimberly, “Go into the house first. I've got something to discuss with Wends.”

“Okay. I'll leave you two to talk and go see whether Sebastian is awake.”

When Kimberly had left, Lionel fixed his eyes on Wendy.

His gaze was sharp, so piercing that it could seemingly penetrate right to the depths of one's heart.
