Simon: Artemis, I've explained everything to Granddad, and he has calmed down. Hence, you don't have to rush over to the Chivers residence. Now that you owe me one, this will offset what I did seven years ago. Therefore, you're not allowed to hold it against me anymore.

Intrigued by Artemis' sudden smile, Bailey inquired, “What is it?”

Artemis showed her the message instead of replying.

Upon reading it, Bailey was equally delighted. “Back then, in my desperation to raise money to save Granny, I had no choice but to agree to Rhonda's condition and sleep with an old man. I was surprised when the “old man” turned out to be you. So it was Simon's doing all along. Anyway, message him to tell him that I'm eternally grateful for what he has done. From now on, I have his back wherever he goes.”

Artemis was elated to hear her words.

Is she expressing her gratitude to Simon for sending her my way? Hmm, I have to admit that I need to thank him too.

“All right.”

After replying to Simon's message with what Bailey said, Artemis turned off his phone.

Subsequently, a smile descended upon Bailey's face, as she knew exactly what was on his mind. Cognizant that there was no escape, she threw her arms around his neck and took the initiative instead.

The night had just begun and so did their story.

Back in Shelbert Condominium, the two boys were sitting on the sofa, sighing.

“Alas, it looks like she has been taken.”

“That's a fact since seven years ago. There's no point in complaining about it now.”

As the smiling Susan joined them, she commented, “Maxton, Zayron, I don't want to be the youngest. I prefer to have a younger sibling instead.”

Exchanging glances, the boys gave their adorable sister a look before slapping their thighs in unison.

“Fine, I'll make your wish come true.”

“Okay, I'll think of a way to get Mommy pregnant again.”

After mulling over the matter, the brothers shared a glance and spotted the cunning glint that flashed across each other's eyes.

Zayron remarked, “Given how desperate they are for each other, I'm sure they didn't use any protection. Thus, Bailey will definitely take the morning-after pill tomorrow. Hehe... I'll leave this matter to you.”

Maxton patted his chest. “Don't worry, I'll get it done. Bay will not be swallowing that pill tomorrow, I promise.”

As the brothers burst into devious laughter, Susan clapped her hands in delight.

“Hurray! I'll have a younger sibling soon!”

Meanwhile, at the Gezmond residence, Lionel was on the phone as he lay on the couch in his study.

“Mr. Gezmond, we have discovered Ms. Saunders' location. She has secretly left Hallsbay a few days ago. Traveling together with her is Dwayne Derning, assistant to Luther Group's CEO.”

The mention of Dwayne caused Lionel to tighten his grip on his phone.

I'm surprised that she has left with that man. Does she really think that she can find love again? What a joke! With my brand on her body, does she really think she can escape forever?

“Regardless of where she is and whatever it takes, find her.”

“Understood.”

Upon regaining his composure, Lionel added, “Do we know where Holden is?”

A deathly silence ensued before the person on the other end of the line mustered the courage to answer, “Based on our investigations, we have narrowed it down to one person. However, he is someone so powerful that we're unable to touch him.”

With a darkened gaze and furrowed brows, Lionel asked, “Who can he be?”

“One of Tarragon's leaders, second only to Micah.”

Lionel's pupils constricted abruptly. Even though he knew that Sebastian's father was an influential person, he didn't expect the latter to be so powerful.

Tarragon, the mysterious organization that controlled all the underground factions around the globe, was feared by everyone. No one dared to go against them.

Is Sebastian's father really one of the leaders of Tarragon? If that's the case, he should have had the capability to fight with the Hoffman family back then. Why did he abandon the pregnant Wendy and cause her to fall into such a predicament? She was almost assassinated by her family!

“Okay. I understand. There's no need to investigate any further. If we don't stop here, I'm worried that we would bring unnecessary trouble upon ourselves.”

“Got it.”

Falling into deep thought after the call, Lionel decided to see Micah.

Since he was told that Micah was in Hallsbay recently, he figured it was best to find out about Holden straight from the horse's mouth.

Inside a private room on the top floor that night, Sylvester and Micah were sharing a drink, while Jerry, abstaining, was playing games on his phone.

When Sylvester threw a kick at Jerry out of nowhere, his toes struck a steel plate when the latter swiftly dodged, causing him to howl in agonized pain.

F*ck, isn't he engrossed in his game? How did he see my kick coming?

After being humiliated by Jerry, Sylvester turned toward Micah, who was gulping down his wine, and rolled his eyes.

“Justin has gone in pursuit of his girl, while Dwayne is spending time with his first love. As for Ratemis, he's intoxicated in a woman's bed, leaving both of you here. One is addicted to his games and the other only cares about drinking. F*ck, this is so boring. I'm outta here.”

With that, he got up to leave.

Narrowing his eyes at the other man's leaving silhouette, Micah asked in a nonchalant tone, “Jerry, is there any progress on the matter I asked you to investigate?”
