The next day, Bailey was awoken by a ringing tone.

Clutching at her aching waist, she leaned back against the pillow languidly and fished for the phone.

When the call connected, it only took a few words from the person on the other end of the line to chase away vestiges of her sleepiness.

“Something's happened to Sebastian?”

“Yes. Raymond abducted him in order to force me to return. Master, please help me contact Raymond and ask him to give me some time. I will return with them once I settle my affairs here. Please tell him not to hurt Sebastian.”

Bailey gripped the phone tightly as she asked, “How do you plan to settle the matters here? Julie, don't act rashly. I'll do whatever I can to help you.”

A low laugh that was tinged with bitterness and slight melancholy sounded from the phone. “Master, it seems like I'm not fated to be with him. I'm unable to hold a place in his heart. I've thought about it though. If there is no room in his heart for me, there's no point in trying to squeeze my way in. I'll only end up hurting myself and troubling others.”

“So? You're giving up?”

“Yes, I intend to. I have some matters I need to settle in Hallsbay. Please give Raymond a call and ask him to give me three days. After three days, I will return to the family.”

Bailey narrowed her eyes. Julie sounds extremely calm. It's quite frightening.

She had known Juliana for many years, so she knew her very well. Nah, this is not what she wants.

“Julie, I can help you if you don't wish to return—”

“Master, I know what you're going to say, but there's no need for that. I've really thought through the matter. Since he has no room for me in his heart, there's no point in me continuing to pester him. I'd rather let him go than get detested by him.”

Bailey sighed. “All right. I'll respect your choice and offer you my support. If you encounter any problems upon returning to your family, let me know. I will help you.”

“Thank you, Master.”

Bailey sighed again after she hung up the phone.

Sitting up, Artemis reached out and enveloped her in his embrace. “Tell me if you need anything.”

Bailey shook her head. “Juliana's already made her decision. I can only respect her choice. Truth be told, Zeke and her just aren't from the same world. Due to her background, she's never been able to act selfishly and do as she pleased. Perhaps this is for the best. Adrune is full of handsome young men and maybe she'll fall for someone else in a few years.”

“Okay.”

...

In a private mansion in the suburbs, Micah narrowed his eyes at the young woman in the living room. Furrowing his brows, he asked, “Why are you in Hallsbay?”

Smiling elegantly, Yvette took a step forward and grabbed his arm. “I'm tired of staying at the Tarragon headquarters. It does wonders for my health to take a break occasionally.”

Micah shifted his arm to break her hold and tried to push her away.

However, his efforts proved to be futile. Thus, he could only give up and asked in a cold tone, “You could travel around the world if you wanted a vacation.”

“I am on vacation! I happened to pass by Hallsbay and heard that you were here. That's why I stopped by to visit you and stay for a bit.”

Hehe, I made sure Hallsbay is the first stop on my travels. I planned my trip with a purpose.

After keeping silent for a moment, Micah replied casually, “All right. You can stay here for a few days. Leave once you've rested well.”

“By the way, you've been in Hallsbay for quite some time. Did something happen?”

Micah frowned in response. After thinking for a moment, he calmly replied, “I stay back to watch the International Racecar Tournament that will take place in a few days.”

Blinking in surprise, a look of excitement crossed Yvette's face. “I heard that the Legendary Racer, Adhira, was going to be participating in the International Racecar Tournament. I'm a huge fan of hers and would love to watch the race! Can you take me with you when you go there?”

Micah glanced at her and said softly, “Okay.”
