Bailey opened the box to reveal the beautiful purple diamond necklace inside.

Under the soft light, she saw at first glance the tiny line of text carved into the bottom of the necklace: Cedric Yara.

The necklace was indeed authentic. It was the token of affection that Yara had designed for Cedric back then, but it went missing later for some reason.

With the necklace finally in her hands, Bailey heaved a sigh of relief.

Good thing I realized it before I left this place. Otherwise, I would have missed this necklace.

Bailey was not interested in collecting antiques. Her obsession with the necklace was simply driven by her desire to fulfill Cedric's wish.

Gadzinski Academy had many disciples, and almost all of them were looking for this necklace just to fulfill their beloved mentor's wish.

Staring at Bailey coldly, the pawnshop executive spoke in a low voice. “So what do you think, Ms. Jefferson? Is this necklace real or fake? I hope you don't lie and deny its authenticity just to save your own face.”

Bailey shrugged and confessed, “Fine, I admit I was wrong this time. You're right to say that I'm not knowledgeable enough to talk about the technicalities. However, I am certain that this necklace is real.”

It's real?

The crowd erupted in chaos right away.

“What the h*ck? I was waiting for a drama, and this is all that I get?”

“This just proves that we've indeed overestimated Bailey. It's true that she's accomplished in the design, medicine, and racing fields, but she's a noob in jewelry appraising.”

“She even suspected that the woman earlier is an impostor of Master Vespera.”

“Well, she just shoot herself in the foot.”

“Bailey, we won't pursue this matter, but you should apologize to Master Vespera.”

“Right, you should apologize to her quickly.”

The pawnshop executive threw Bailey an icy look and said sternly, “Ms. Jefferson, you should know that your ignorant claims just harmed Auro Pawnshop's reputation. You must give me an explanation tonight, or you won't be allowed to leave.”

Bailey sneered in her heart.

They were only forced to bring out the real item because I came forward and pointed out that the necklace is fake. If I hadn't done that, the authentic necklace I'm holding will never be revealed.

“I'm sorry, I made a mistake and misled everyone to doubt Auro Pawnshop. I apologize to you all. Of course, I will keep my word and purchase this necklace for six hundred million.”

As the pawnshop executive glanced at the purple diamond necklace, he was filled with bitterness.

If I let her off just like this, who will make up for my loss? So what if she pays six hundred million for it? Even if she pays six billion, there's no point. That money won't be mine, anyway!

“Ms. Jefferson, do you think you can solve this problem with just an apology? You don't know anything about jewelry appraisal, yet you were so daring to make those claims. Your behavior has caused us huge trouble. Who will bear the responsibility for our loss?”

“I will.”

A deep and magnetic voice sounded from the entrance the next second.

Everyone turned their heads around, and they were met with the sight of Artemis walking in with one hand in his pocket.

Stroking his chin with his other hand, he voiced, “Auro Pawnshop is quite bold, huh? How dare you mess with my woman? You're treating me like I'm dead.”

The executive's knees instantly went weak when he heard Artemis.

How could I forget that Bailey has such powerful backing?
